Anyone shoot with the Sigma 2.8? I'm looking to purchase, and the Sigma is a bit more in my price range right now, and don't really want to wait for more funds, as I need the lens for shooting Basketball this winter.
Looking for 1st hand experience with both lenses please.
Thanks,
Scott

In fact...
www.3six9photography.com shoots with the Canon 70-200.
The Sigma lens is VERY capable.
It may not be quite as good as the Canon, but I've been very happy with it.

I have the Canon non IS though and can tell you its bad ass. If you need to see a sample image let me know.
My buddy that helps me shoot at times has a Tokina. It surprised me. Its actualy quite good. If the Sigma is as good as the Tokina you will be happy with it..
How much price difference we talking about? And what camera are you shooting with??
The Shop

DeCal Works Huge Plastic Inventory of UFO and Polisport kits.
Hope that helps.
Thanks for the replies
I still don't think this Canon is any faster to focus or provides any better IQ than the Sigma.
Here are some images taken with the Sigma at Millville a few years ago.
How is the Sigma 24-70 2.8 vs the Canon 24-70 2.8?
I also have the Sigma 24-70 2.8.
That lens is also very good. Image quality is great. It has made lots of money for me over the last couple of years. I use it for portrait stuff mostly. I bought mine used off Fredmiranda.com and it was cheap.
Very happy.
Again, it may not be as good as the Canon, but it's very capable.
