You need some air flow going thru that motor all 4's do that...

Don't know about bikes but when car headers do that its and igniting timing problem

and not its not a good thing, nor is it normal But hey car headers are not titanium either, so what do I know. Not much

its 100% normal if you rev the snot out of them not moving. its not reccomended but every one will do it going back to a 98 yz400

My 450 would do that idling in the garage...it was a jetting issue for me.

Start up any modern 4 stroke in the dark and thats what you will see.... check out thumpertalk there has been about a bazillion threads on it since 02.

Totally normal, especially if the idle is high or choke is out.

Bikes need air flow to properly maintain temperature. Always makes me laugh when someone starts up their bike and lets it idle on the stand while they get their gear on. Nothing is worse for performance and durability than excessive heat in the motor.

If it's a titanium header it is because they are built really thin.

Depends on how long they let it idle. I get dressed but put my neck brace, helmet, gloves, and goggles on after I've started the bike. It's better to let it get to operating temperature than to just kick it and rip.

I do get a chuckle watching people bounce their bike off the limiter to "warm it up" right after starting it.
