Here's the back story; Holly Equipment, a stellar vintage speed shop in Japan, started making hydroformed pipes for the 78-79 CR250r and ME360. I picked one up for my 250; it's a beaut.

Joe has a 77(? 78?) works Honda 500 factory bike that needs a pipe. He tried to get them to sell him the 360 pipe unassembled so that he could adapt it to the 500. They didn't want to (which I can kind of understand, even though it wouldn't be hard to reverse engineer from the assembled pipe, or maybe they just didn't have unassembled ones). So Joe just ordered the 360 pipe and now has to do some cutting and adapting.

I gotta say, the pipe is a piece of art, and pretty cool that someone is putting them together for the older bikes. You do pay accordingly, though. The guys at Holly are totally cool in my experience and their blog always has some interesting stuff on it. They seem to find some really epic bikes.

Here's their blog; I usually check once a week or so to see what they're up to. That's how I found the pipe. They sell on EBay from time to time.

That about sums it up! 1978 RC500 and the Mugen 360 pipe almost fits. Will hopefully be able to move a mount and make a couple cuts along the welds and put it all back together with no additional seams. The silencer will only be used for the formed inlet and build from there. This will work just fine until someone comes along with an original RC pipe.....

Best part is that it got here to Texas from Japan in under a week! Two thumbs up not only for the amazing quality but also for the service.
