I think he runs the big sprocket so he can do third gear starts. They talked about it on Pulp a couple weeks ago when Shorty was on.

I bet JS will triple quad triple.
Nope. He could (all the top 10 guys could)...but this is racing...not a big air contest. You will gain .10 by eliminating a jump...and lose .30 trying to get your shit together and make the corner. The peak of the last jump is 15' from the center of a 90 degree corner. Too close... Not happening. Enough with the quadmania....

Big ass jump though...

Shorty always runs weird ass gearing. I think he tries to move himself up one full gear in the box. Where everyone is in 2nd...he is 3rd, etc. Probably a good idea if you do not have a factory works trannmission stack.
