But if he'd been ahead of RV at that point it never would have happened.

Not bad luck, bad start. ;-)

Bad start yeah, some bad luck also. I'd like to say that in any instance of him pulling off the track, everyone wants to bash him. Well, this time he pulled off and got the bike fixed... Charged all race for a 18th. Could have pulled off. Maybe that desire, that all you professional keyboard character analysts say he lacks, is actually in full force...

That's the weld mark of the pipe that was installed, not the dented one. With the lighting in that pic is sure does look like a crack, but go back and watch the video.

Does anyone have a picture of Mikes bike after the crash? Does it have the brake on the bars?

I know they did clip his front brake cable. Doc Bodnar's bandage scissors now have an additional use.

Hah, look at the difference in body position on the bike between Dean Wilson and Ryan Villopoto. Especially the first photo. Grinning

I'm sure this is a stupid question, but what is that yellow stuff on the dented header? Melted plastic from the front fender? Traction Control Modulator melting from inside the header? Fiberglass from the silencer restriction baffle inductor?

Also, why couldn't James ride it with a dented header? I know a guy (actually quite a few) that ride their bikes without silencers, no packing, and in some cases a huge hole in the header and they go around the track just fine for months.
I think it's mikes grip that melted when his pipe hit his handlebar.

Guess james proved he is a quitter.......(sarcasm).... That had to have been so frustrating - Kudos for getting the bike fixed and getting back out there.......bad luck- nature of the sport- just a bummer...James would have been top 5 going down that stretch and probably would have been up front (top 3) come the end of the night...
