My first Dirt Bike bought this bike November 2012 from 1st owner, never rebuilt, put another 10 hours before this rebuild.

RM 250 2001- Mostly Stock
Race Tech Springs Front Rear for 210 lb's
FMF Fatty Pipe and Silencer
Compression was at 125 PSI
Smoked A lot of White Puffy's
Lots of Spooge
Stock Needle
Clip on 3rd from top.

Bought:
Reed's
Carburetor Vent Hose's
Silencer Packing
NGK Spark Plug
Radiator Hose's
Wiesco Full Top-End Kit.

Left Side Motor

WTF! How? When? It Still Ran with this monstrosity? this happened on the exhaust side, so this piece must have blew through the pipe. I checked the pipe and no rattling or pieces.

I remember the 3rd time running this bike in the high-desert, I was WOT in 5th for about 10 Seconds and Poof! Pop! Bunch of black smoke and the bike hiccup'd ...this must have been it. but it still ran...took it to Glen Helen more the 4 times and milestone more the 6 times after this. Steve McQueen was looking out for me....WoW

Cylinder was fine No scratches no scuffs (note the dark spot, this was oil i did not wipe off)

I Seriously Dodge a Canon here!

Did you put in a new crank or at least check the big end bearing? Would be a good idea in case a little debris from the piston found its way down there and was wearing it a bit, on top of having never been rebuilt.

No Particles, Main bearing is good. Cylinder has no indication of any piece's ever blowing by the rings.

Thanks for the insight crash.

Whew, that's pretty nuts man. Glad that didn't pinball around in there and destroy the motor. Good looking bike though!
