Will a 1986 cr250 caliper, line, and master cylinder bolt up to the 1985 cr250?

Thanks for your time.

Yes. Are you Marc's brother (or another relative), or, did you buy the '85 from one of the Shade brothers?

If so, the wheels on that bike are from my '86. Marc built an '86 CR250 for me in 2009, and when he did so, he replaced the '86 Master Cylinder with a newer one. He also replaced the front line, which is why the parts are left over... And why they are available for your consideration for buying.

To answer your question, yes, the 1986 CR250 CALIPER, line and master cylinder will work. Enjoy them, they were good when they came off the bike and they should be good now.

Thanks for the quick response.

Not Marc's Brother,

I got a really good deal on a running 85 cr250 and when I was changing the fluids in the brake assembly, a buddy started to spray brake cleaner in the line and caliper, now its not building pressure. So I took everything off and bought a rebuild kit and still no pressure. Either the caliper locked up or MC is completely no good now. So I'm buying a 86 front assembly off ebay rather then trying another rebuild kit.

What I haven't tried is using pressured air to see if the caliper moves, but I'll just wait for the parts to come and just replace everything.

It will fit, no problem,,,, I have an '85 CR250, replaced the front forks with a set from an '87 CR250 (cartridge type). Bolted up my stock '85 caliper to the '87 forks. Getting ready to rebuild the caliper, new pistons and seals. Good brakes.

I have '87 front forks with an '88 caliper on my '85 Mugen 125. No issues, I am going to swap to '92-'94 usd's on it though. I need the larger spring rates that they offer.

yes sir, I have one off of an o7, the whole assembly, just had to modify the bracket that holds the line to the fork leg,it works great! I just did this a couple months ago, and jerry wishes I had done this last year, I never could get the original to work very well.
