Let us not forget about sketchy-town. This track exists in the above area. Never been there but have heard stories. Met a dude at a christmas party last weekend the did time there. Basically its an old track and/or set of trails that criss-cross and has never been goomed. folk-lore has it, a tweaker charges you like 6 bucks and lets you ride your ass off while he cooks chicken on a barrel grill (meals included).
shady grove mx, first spot I hit up when I moved to tx. place can be fun during the week. when I found it, I wasn't actually sure what I had found. thankfully for me there was a truck parked with a ramp on the tailgate to confirm it was actually a riding spot. just to be clear it was $10 to ride and dude is not a tweeker but has been drunk each time I have been there. was told to avoid it like the plague on weekends...

Haha I rode at Shady Grove too in 98, sounds like it's the same as it was 15 years ago. Like you jayback we weren't sure if we were at the right place if it weren't for the other guy there loading up as we found the parking area.

Run top 10 at LL's next year in the C class and I'll buy you and 3 of your family members dinner and drinks at Joe T Garcias!

I don't try for Loretta's, don't have the money. Be cool to race it though! I only do nationals around here ie: oakhill and freestone. And what does going to LL have anything to do with this? Seems like your running outta stuff to say. Have you run top 10 in C class? That's pretty good I guess. At least you made it there.

Johnsonville is pretty good but every time I have been the back section really gets one lined because the times I been there haven't been many bikes there. Village creek is alright. I liked it better a few years back.

Surprised no one said MX Under ground. I try to make it there every trip. Love that dirt.
I really dislike breaking this news to anyone but. . .

Dude, the margaritas at Joe T Garcias are killer. 2 and you're feeling pretty good. . . but the pitcher keeps begging to be finished. I've stumbled out of there plenty of times. I even started my bachellor party there. I'd make it a point to run top 10 at LL's C class next year with that offer. Lol. It's like cat nip for humans.

Now that is a bummer. Even more a bummer I didn't get the chance to ride there this past thanksgiving due to all the crap weather, but lucky I got out of town before the weather really got bad.

We just had a similar thing happen with an awesome track here in GA/AL....all is great , huge turn outs, great races, and bam CLOSED!
