I do not understand why everyone is so upset by this guy..... I personally don't get the whole 'hand-out' mentality. However, that being said, the Vital community fell all over themselves to help the Robins this summer because they struggle financially. They gave plenty of money to Lane because he wants to race the Mini O's and didn't save enough to cover it. Why is everyone now offended by a request for help? Not dogging either side, just not sure I understand the difference....

Its not that we were not saving for it, we had 4 family members died all within several months. We live out of State and had to travel for each one. Also, my sister learned she had breast cancer three months after her husband died and I sent her what I could to help her. Then just as we saved back up, all three of our vehicle's were infested with field rats one week and I had to use our savings to get our vehicle back on the road after they ate the wiring... Its not like I have not tried to save all year and just decided to ask for handouts two week before the race.
JoJo- I apologize if it seems like I was attacking you, that is not the case. Honestly, I did not read the entire thread about your run of set-backs (sorry for your losses and suffering btw) I just caught a a bit about 'don't worry about results' etc etc..... then I read the posts in response the OP of this thread and people were telling him about "ROI" etc etc. It all seemed rather contradictory.

A few minutes ago someone made reference to how long the OP of this thread has been a member vs. your contributions to the board (which I understand are plenty) That makes sense as well, but I never saw Dan Robin on here until after the Vital members rallied to get him to LL in style. You were only an example of the arbitrary reactions of the "vitards"

I'm classless???

I'm not the BEGGER......

Beggers are classless.

Have you not read the post on how the kid should take a different approach like at least an attempt provide a little ROI vs having his girlfriend come on Vital and beg for him???

I mean really, he isn't even man enough to beg for himself? He has to get his girlfriend to do it for him?

Lets just throw all the PCness out the window. Not once has his chick come on here and asked for some sort of sponsorship where they will provide something in return. Just a handout, and all the pro EBT people on here are like aawwww he is just chasing his dreams to be the next goat and it's sooooo tough for a guy to make it........

Stop crying, life ain't fair and he obviously ain't fast enoughWoohoo

People are starving in Africa, choking on smog in China, and having to deal with Obamacare in America and because little Johnnys daddy cut him off because he put quarter sized holes in his ears now it's time to turn Vital into the charity board for people that are scared to go get a real job to PAY for their dreams.

Well I got news for Johnny, in a couple years lifes gonna get a lot tougher so you better learn to be a man now.

How's that for a little cold hard truth boys and girls.

Hell somebody write DC and FELD and tell them to change the displacement rules so that CT742 can run a 2 stroke and can AFFORD to race. I'll sign that petition for himLaughing
Dude, please take a deep breath, take a step back, and look at what you are posting. I'm sorry that you don't get the whole trying to live the dream concept, but that does not give you the authority to bash the crap out of the guy. I would be damn surprised if you would say any of this to his face, and classless posting like this should be embarrassing. I'm not sure why this even bugs me so bad, but it is hard to watch someone get ripped to shreds by a bunch of keyboard warriors. If you don't like it, move on, or at least show a little respect. Go ahead and bash me to, I'm done with this topic.

Although I don't post often I have spent a number of years enjoying the topics on Vital. I have to say, most here appear to be a bunch of great people, however, some of you....you don't take the time to think before you post. It's really sad to see the Moral Decay that one often finds on forums and elsewhere nowadays.

This youngster and his babe asked for help...donations...a handout...sponsorship, for the East Coast SX series. Call it what you want. All they did was ask. Nothing wrong with that! If you have spare cash and are of the helpful type, I'm sure a little due diligence will determine if the kid deserves what he is asking for...be it a little fuel money or entry fees or whatever.... For the love of the sport and industry, don't rip the dude apart for asking. He certainly was not begging.

I'm a mechanic for a multitime South African Champion who is still in his teen years and who has a dream of racing in the USA. We scratch our heads everyday about how we going to make the budget work to compete here in SA. The Rand/dollar exchange rate is scary shit when looked at. We also at times need to put our pride in our pockets and humble ourselves and ask for support. Again, if the kid is worthy of help then help, but don't shoot the young man down.

You guys have no idea what begging is until you have lived in Africa. It's bad in South Africa and much worse further north.

So while we about it, any got some spare change to fund or sponsor my rider a crack at the USA Outdoor series??? Ya, I'm starting to beg now :-)

It's plain and simple ... If you're good enough you don't have to ask for money. Lots of riders even riders out of South Africa have made it here without asking for money.

Wow goes to show you know nothing about being a privateer.. For starters go watch the DVD the great outdoors: privateers.. Then maybe Man vs. Machine an see how hard it is for them.. It's ok for people to ask for help just like its on for people to say no..

People like Markopolo400 thinks the kid isn't trying to earn his way and hasn't put in the time well he's a complete idiot.

Just curious, what about this thread is a "PC atmosphere"?

It actually amazes me that these guys have no problem with the OP signing up to ask for money for her boyfriend... wtf?

I don't want to be negative (lol) so I will opt out of this thread.
Please don't confuse having manners and not being a dick to people with being Politically Correct.

I wasn't trying to be a dick, I was trying to point out, what I thought, was a rather piss poor way for the kid to get the help he's looking for.

To not say anything would just encourage others to think it's cool to do the same... it's pretty irritating and actually, a little insulting when some one post wonder does that. "IMO"
