Why is everyone so butt hurt about this? If you don't want to donate - don't. Pretty simple.

The only people who are but hurt are those who only have negativity to share.........and unfortunately share it repeatedly. What I don't understand is why people read threads if they aren't down with the subject........but I guess they need an outlet to try and bring others down.

It's about the board policing itself. A few years ago this thread would be going a lot different.. but sadly a lot of those OG guys don't post here anymore. Maybe if this PC atmosphere continues to flourish, this place will be just like Mototalk!

Just curious, what about this thread is a "PC atmosphere"?

The Rock's post and ones like it.

It actually amazes me that these guys have no problem with the OP signing up to ask for money for her boyfriend... wtf?

I don't want to be negative (lol) so I will opt out of this thread.

I'm not seeing it. You're conflating political correctness with manners. The Rock and a few others have manners.

This couldn't be more true and mainly only 2 of them continuously bash the OP.. Must be so depressed that the only way to feel better with their lives is to be condescending to others!

Riiiiight... another noob trying to tell me how it is.

So, it's good manners to go to a place you've never been before, and ask for a handout from strangers? And not a handout for food, or shelter, or first aid, but to race dirtbikes! LOL!

The only reason these threads continue to pop up is because of the idiots here that tolerate it... er, that have "manners". Pinch

You guys are unbelievable man...

Not hostile. It's just pathetic that everybody wants a handout these days. How about working for it. How about if these people believe so much in these people they come on here ask for a Vital MX EBT card they get a second job to fund it instead of coming on here begging for it?

I agree with the other guy. I'll fund him. I need hard assets valued at 125% of what you want and it'll be 20% interest. If you believe that much I've got the money.

Nobody "gave" me what I have so if you "want" it, you gotta earn it.

When I was 17 I had three jobs and didn't go around begging.

On a serious note I hope he gets a "sponsor" to fund his racing and not a handout. That means he's earning it. Time to be man.

Maybe a different approach is what you guys asking for money need. Put together a demo video of this kid and let him explain to us why we should sponsor him. How is he gonna give us a return on investment? How will he promote his sponsors? In other words show people how he will work for the money not just take handouts. If he's fast like RV somebody will throw money at him and you won't have to go looking like this. If he is not, he better go to the Nick Wey school of how to be a hype man if he wants to make anything of it.
Well said. It's this liberal Obama mentality these kids are bein taught these days. "Your entiltied, there's no hope, you can't do it on your own, everyone that works will support you". This is a business, if you want money, you have to win or do it the Nick-Wey...

These posts are a perfect example of a double edge sword. Its tough to hate on a kid that loves moto enough, that he would drive 9 hours after work and sleep for 4 hours in the front seat of his truck just so he could make practice for a race. Look at what he put out just to make it to that race (gas, food, hotel, etc) and also consider how many hours he worked to earn whatever $$ he spent that weekend. This kid might have worked a week to a month just to be able to afford the expenses of this 1 race, can you really find fault in that? That doesn't include the money spent for bike, gear, parts, etc.

You can't just say "get a 2nd job or get a better paying job and earn more money, its not always that easy. I'm not saying he deserves a hand out, but at least he is working and doing something and he's contributing vs someone else that's not doing a damn thing except asking people for a handout. Kids can only be so resourceful, and persistence is always a good quality. Asking for $$ on the forums, I don't love it, but at the same time, I don't hate it. Anyone that had a paper route or mowed lawns as a kid, was that going to buy you a car, a house and support the family? Absolutely not, but it did teach you the value of hard work, the value of a dollar and many other life lessons at an early age. If this kid is exhibiting some of these traits, why bash him or put him down. Despite the delivery, he deserves some credit for having a job and earning money for his cause

Damn good post. Lots of bitter old men on these forums. I can think of better ways to go about fund raising but the kids got a dream, better than running down to the corner and getting a fix that way.

I'm classless???

I'm not the BEGGER......

Beggers are classless.

Have you not read the post on how the kid should take a different approach like at least an attempt provide a little ROI vs having his girlfriend come on Vital and beg for him???

I mean really, he isn't even man enough to beg for himself? He has to get his girlfriend to do it for him?

Lets just throw all the PCness out the window. Not once has his chick come on here and asked for some sort of sponsorship where they will provide something in return. Just a handout, and all the pro EBT people on here are like aawwww he is just chasing his dreams to be the next goat and it's sooooo tough for a guy to make it........

Stop crying, life ain't fair and he obviously ain't fast enoughWoohoo

People are starving in Africa, choking on smog in China, and having to deal with Obamacare in America and because little Johnnys daddy cut him off because he put quarter sized holes in his ears now it's time to turn Vital into the charity board for people that are scared to go get a real job to PAY for their dreams.

Well I got news for Johnny, in a couple years lifes gonna get a lot tougher so you better learn to be a man now.

How's that for a little cold hard truth boys and girls.

Hell somebody write DC and FELD and tell them to change the displacement rules so that CT742 can run a 2 stroke and can AFFORD to race. I'll sign that petition for himLaughing

Hey Outsider, I wasn't trying to say that Raegan did the right thing in asking for a handout here, but I can give her a little slack for being young and trying to help someone she cares about. Remember, at some time we'll all need a helping hand, and "what goes around, comes around," can be tough mother.

I'm still a noob? When do I lose my noob status? I think once you make a bunch of faux-pas and claim "But I'm just a noob" status you're definitely still a noob, but I haven't claimed noob faux-pas forgiveness in a couple of months at least.

Here is my problem with this.

I didn't say anything in the other thread about help for the kid going to the mini O's. Why? Because his dad participates on this forum... he's a "member", so to speak. So, he wants to ask for help, cool.

What really irritates me is that the OP in this thread has never posted here until now, and will never post here again, but yet asks for money. To me that is wrong!

I have no problem with people asking for help and I enjoy helping others, that's not the issue here.

Are you a noob? I don't know, are you? Smile

I do not understand why everyone is so upset by this guy..... I personally don't get the whole 'hand-out' mentality. However, that being said, the Vital community fell all over themselves to help the Robins this summer because they struggle financially. They gave plenty of money to Lane because he wants to race the Mini O's and didn't save enough to cover it. Why is everyone now offended by a request for help? Not dogging either side, just not sure I understand the difference....

I love that some of you guys are bringing me into this. First off, I have helped out so many kids in the past, to include buying bikes, paying fuel cost, hotels, food ect.... to kids not of my own. I actually provide a website in my area for tracks to post when they will race or ride at no cost to them. I do many things for my members to include purchasing items out of my own pocket to give away to our members (And will continue to do so). Ask a few guys on here who were recipients of some free stuff. If anything, I hope I have earned the right to come here and ask for help. No one forced anyone to help, they did it because they wanted to, because they are good moto brethren. If you didn't, that's fine.

I wish this kid luck on the SX season and luck obtaining sponsorship. Some of y'all need to relax and stop being assholes. If you don't like what is going on here, go start your own website and invite all your friends who are just like you so you can give each other a hard time and feel good about it.

Dude, I understand that frustration. You're probably 100% correct about not seeing Raegan again. She's deleted her posts. I hate to see that because I think another mind lost to the hive weakens the hive. I think in among the anger that was posted above, there were some good tips given.

I checked the noob rule book and I hate to admit it, but by the rules, I'm still a freaking noob. Dang, I hate noob status! I remember when I got to my first duty station (ancient history talking here now) and being the "noob." Chasing after "Flight Line" and "Prop Wash" and being sent to the Skipper to get our "monthly beer allotment...sheesh...sucked!

Its not that we were not saving for it, we had 4 family members died all within several months. We live out of State and had to travel for each one. Also, my sister learned she had breast cancer three months after her husband died and I sent her what I could to help her. Then just as we saved back up, all three of our vehicle's were infested with field rats one week and I had to use our savings to get our vehicle back on the road after they ate the wiring... Its not like I have not tried to save all year and just decided to ask for handouts two week before the race.
