But still goddamn awesome

This is a badass band out of Michigan that I have seen a couple times live now, and they sound just as awesome live as they do on recordings. I saw them about 2 weeks ago in a small club in Colorado Springs where a total of maybe 50 people showed up. Anyway theyre on tour right now with 3 inches of blood and Revocation, check them out if they come through close by

Can the dude sing, and I use that term loosely, an entire show like that? He must not be able to speak for 3 weeks after a show.

Because some people enjoy seeing instruments played with an insane amount of technicality and skill. The guitar and drum work is absolutely amazing in that song and their other songs as well, Some people enjoy mindless pop music, or generic radio rock type stuff, others like to see awesome instrumental work with an edge to it.

The singer must be doing it without pushing a lot of air. It is the big air push that causes a lot of strain. That guy would fit right in at the gym.

Replace the vocals in each video with Hetfield in his prime and you might have something really cool.

A lot of great musicianship. They should just scrap out the vocals though. It's OK that you cant understand anything they're saying. The lyrics are as pointless as "what the fox says."

I dealt with this music for 3 years while my son was playing. They practiced in my livingroom. The musicianship is outstanding. Almost at the level of the great classics. The vocals are the boring part. Unnecessary really.

Harry, I am a huge opeth fan as well. I saw them on the 1st Sounds of the underground tour, and they were awesome live (obviously as evidenced by the vid you posted).

Borg, In this type of music the vocals are used as another instrument, The lyrics in a lot of these bands are actually either politically or socially driven, and do have a message that upon 1st listen you may not hear, but will be picked up on as you listen to it more

Is there any way I can listen to it without the lyrics?
The jam part I really like, but soon as that hairy dude opens his mouth the enjoyment is instantly gone.

Fun little fact there, Cannibal Corpse was actually put into the movie because Jim Carrey is a big death metal fan.

Plus one. Guess it finally happened. I'm old. To quote my uncle, "That is one more climbing the wall racket.". Of course, he was referring to my Rush All the World's a Stage album that I literally wore the grooves off of. So with that in mind, rock out young people. Just try to use some dynamics now and then! And turn that racket down.

If they had 50 people in the club that should be the peak of their popularity. Nothing new there or original or even good from what I saw. Looks like a Pantera/Anthrax cover band.
