Illegal drops? I'll give him the benefit of the doubt on those but, claiming his ball just wiggled and didn't move even after they showed it to him,,,,,, BUSTED. Don't blame someone else for calling it what it was. Mark it down though, he's got the horsepower to make the Golf Channel punish Chamblee.
It's too bad that baseball players aren't held to the same standards. How many times have you seen an outfielder hold up his glove after a short hop trying to say that he caught it in the air? Or close plays at first base. Or a missed tag. These things have a huge bearing on the outcome of a game but a golfball that moves an 1/8th of an inch? Come on.
I had my 20 year class reunion a couple of years ago, and a "pre-function" was meeting up at the golf course for a round on Friday before the festivities really fired up. I don't play golf, but wanted to hang out with the guys. So I said that I would drive the cart.
Some old fogie called the course pro, and said that we had a five-some on the course. He came out, and saw that I was not playing, and had no issue, but said that he "had to come out and approach us, because the guy that called in was probably still watching."
WTF? Get a LIFE.
