I recently purchased some fasstco flexx bars, and figured I'd give some first ride impressions.

I rode a full day in the freshly rained on desert...on a combination of washes, Two-Track, Single Track, rocks, sand, mud whoops...regardless of the bar bend, it was an epic day of riding. And I didn't want it to end...but as happens so often in the desert...the sun came out, the water disappeared and the dust start coming up...so we called it a day.

First of all, the dudes at Fasstco are absolutely top notch. All my emails were promptly replied to, Cole and Jason, and even Skyler Howes (NHHA pro) there were very helpful, and made a solid recommendation on which bend they'd recommend based on my height, bike, type of riding and the fact that I run 30mm bar risers...that ended up being the Moto 12*.

They build the bars as they get orders, so it took a bit longer than I'd have hoped to actually get the bars. But, they eventually got to me (I couldn't ride anyway due to a concussion and some broken rips from a desert race a few months ago, so this wasn't a big deal to me).

If you know nothing about the company or the bars...here is a link to their website (I'll let them do the technical run down):

http://www.fasstco.com/shop/flexx-handlebars-mx

At $360, they are the opposite of cheap. But, I had some extra cash and I've heard great things about them in regards to reducing arm pump and fatigue. So I figured I'd give them a shot.

Installation was just like any other handlebar. So easy, even I can do it...

They LOOKED a lot heavier than the pro tapers I took off my bike (which were bent in the crash)...but surprisingly they didn't FEEL much heavier at all (which surprised me)...I have no idea if they are REALLY heavier or not (on the scale).

The recommended bar bend worked great...and I even liked it better than the pro taper bars I was using.

As for riding with them, I felt noticeably less vibration in my hands. This made a big difference in the arm pump department for me (I always struggle with arm pump). So I was pleased, and this alone made them worth the price.

I honestly couldn't tell if the bars did indeed absorb "shock" from bumps that otherwise would have been transferred to my arms. I'll put a race or two under my belt with them, and then I'll be able to speak to this aspect of the bars.

I have yet to crash in them...so I can't tell you about the "durability" aspect.

All in all...if you've got an extra $360 bucks...or feel like $360 is worth it to reduce the vibration you feel...they are a great product. The guys at Fasst Co are good dudes and they are a great company that loves the sport. I recommend their product.

They're ugly a s hell and when you run'em w/ a Scott's they're constantly hitting you in the chest when you're in the whoops.

But, the Worst thing about'em?

They work!

LOL...that's a good point...I run a 30mm bar riser on mine, and I did feel them on the sternum a time or two.

They are extremely durable and I believe there is a 50% credit if you have to replace them due to bending. At least there used to be. I have had them on my wife's bike for 5 or 6 years and have personally crashed her bike on a few occasions with no damage. They are great bars, IMO.

Had my bar clamps made an inch taller than standard for my HMI Billett triples and the modern rise Flexx Bars fit AND feel right at home on the old bike.

Oh cool. I remeber we had to remove a pivot and replace it due to rust. Must be a Texas thing. Lol
If I remember right they sent the pivot along with a new set of each color bumpers for no charge also.

I think they look nice on our race bike. Have a grp4 and not a single issue. GPS mounts up way better than on Pro tapers which we previously ran. Function wise...A+. And the guys over there are great people!

I rode with Fasst bars for about 3 years until I finally realized how great they were. Long story, but I'll cut to the chase:

1 - Had Fasst bars on my bike for about 3 years, mainly motocross, GP's and some desert riding.
2 - Crashed hard and bent them so need to send them back to Fasst for repair (customer service there is excellent)
3 - Grabbed an old pair of Pro Tapers off the shelf in my garage to run while I was waiting for the Fasst bars to get repaired
4 - Rode Glen Helen on a Thursday practice session. The front end of my bike felt harsh and all day I kept checking my front tire because I assumed I had a flat. Perfect air pressure in the tire snd the harshness in the front end persisted.
5 - Fasst bars came back and got re-installed
6 - Went riding, harshness gone, no feeling of a front flat. That's when I FINALLY realized how good the Fasst bars were all along.

Go ride a 74 CR250 Honda with 7/4 inches of not so good suspension and then add Flexx Bars. Oh so gooooooooodddd!

Very good review. I like mine, but like others have said I'm guessing I don't realize how much they help until I have to ride with out them.

What will they do for hand fatigue? That is my issue right now.
