I was thinkin that same exact thing all day...

Great ride for Weston though, on a pretty nasty looking course. This can only help his cause.

In response to the title...

I get what you are saying though.
What teams have spots opening up? Not many.

Look, let's be real.

It's not like he got a bike out of the shed and has to bump start it because he just pulled it from under the tarp after sitting all winter. It is probably modded to the stars and is hard to start.

He deserves a ride, He rode great but lets not make it a sob story because he had to bump his bike. IMO a ride would provide him chance to make a living and enjoy his career a little more (which he deserves) but his results will be right around the same. He obviously trains enough and has a chip on his shoulder that drives him.

It was awesome to see him get 4th today on a track that looked to separate the men from the boys

No doubt....The bump start bike is pulling top 10 starts at the nationals.

Ya, I would've thought maybe they would've helped out, just being all the same moto family. At the xgames there were a couple of different mechanics helping out the dude on the cristini bike when he threw a chain. There was a downed rider and people just jumped in to help.

Regis has a good point though, these race bikes are modded to the gills and have to have alot of Maintanice. WP having to work on the bike I guess with one mechanic and alot of times himself, it's gotta be hard to keep that bike running 100%.

You don't have to do much to a 450 motor for it to be competitive in fact, a good motor builder can easily make a 450 way faster than you can ride on a national caliber rough track. There is also no reason for a properly modified 450 to be hard to start, much less have to be bump started. There was obviously a problem with his bike.

Again, he did great and as I said above he deserves help. The bike not starting doesn't mean he was at any disadvantage motor wise as it is being portrayed by some. I agree with what you are saying. The "problem" was it not being able to be kick started. Once it was started it was obviously strong enough to power him to two top 10 starts and a top 4 finish.

I am sure the problem with it starting was from some sort of modifications not it being worn out or on it's last leg per se...
