Only so long that someone can afford to prop this sport up. Time to make some money.

He's been below his potential for a while, not surprised in some ways

i remember the first race i ever attended was the junior victorian titles at Ararat and he smoked everyone, made Jarryd Mcneil look like a c grader. It's a shame, but i think it really shows how bad things have gotten in the australian mx scene when a 21 year old with a ride retires and mx1 and 2 struggle to get a full grid. something has to change, or there will be no mx in australia in years to come.

I retired from oz mx before my career got started,

why

not enough $

and that was at a time when it was booming, the late 70s.

(btw then as a 18 yr old c grader i was sticking with dinsdale and cramer, (for those old enough to know who they are))

this is only the beginning of the mass exodus the sport will see.

people that have an idea of whats going on have always said he wasnt as committed with his training compared to the rest of the field. apparently he never cycled or anything like that and once he went to the u.s jdr made him get into it haha. either way he was a gnarly dude. one of the smoothest riders on the australian scene for sure

Reading between the lines of what Anderson has said in the PR, the kid didn't want to put in the hard yards.

He's a 21 yr old kid from the bush, from what I understand he's sick of missing out on the lifestyle he loves for minimum wage. Good on him for knowing what he wants and having the balls to make the decision and not drag it out and stuff ando and all his supporters around any longer.
