Yes, this is evolution. Riding style and techniques have arguably evolved even further than the bikes themselves.

If even a good local Pro were to hop in his DeLorean and travel back to 1982 - he would mop the floor with Howerton, Hannah, Magoo and those other immortals. Sad but true.

This doesn't discredit the older generations at all. They were first to figure this whole thing out, and part of its overall progression. If Bob Hannah was born in the mid-80s and was racing today, he would likely still become a legend - but his overall skill level would be higher.

What's the matter Booby, TonyA wasn't available for his weekly reach around in the sauna at the local health club, so you decided to come in and take it out on us at Vital?

One thing I've noticed these days is a lot more amputees riding enough so they have the extremity games. Does this mean today's amputees etc are more hardcore than yesteryears amputees where they get out and have a go and don't sit back and regurgitate the past?
You bet dork...I mean I never had enough guts to ride a motocross bike with one leg. That shitz crazy and these new amputees have way more courage than I ever could...hell these brave one legged daredevils today would probably even ride a damn 500 CC two stroke for gawds sakes.

My grandad raced motocross (or scrambles as he called it) just after the second world war and he said it was always about who was the quickest.

Apparently he didn't know shit since motocross wasn't introduced to the states until 1967. Scrambles and Motocross are NOT one in the same. Try again chump.

Holy fuk is that funny!

Bigger and stronger today...........pure gold.

I'm sure one of todays micro speedsters could beat up Rex Staten...or Jeff Smith, or Heikki Mikkola or Gary Bailey, or Jack Von Veltohven, Hannah, or, or or, or,or,or....

Maybe out run them but bigger/stronger? In your dreams......

Actually he wouldn't you dumb cunt. The only thing he wouldn't admit to is that they're faster.

He said, ""The era of the dual-sport athlete on the professional level is kind of extinct (because) the talent pool is so deep," Jackson said. "If you are trying to split your time between two sports (now), you are going to end up riding the bench in both ... or failing at both."

"Kids are more advanced. Bigger, stronger, faster ... well, I'm not going to say faster ... than my generation," he said.
