Lake Elsinore track on Sunday 14th

Anyone ride Elsinore regularly? The track prep was non-existent. Bone dry, many sections with 6 inches of powder, jumps all worn off and rounded. This was on the Main track. I didn't bother with what they call the Vet track.

What's going on with that place?

I heard lots of rumors but don't know how reliable they are. Track going away after the National, losing money, etc, etc. A lot of folks were leaving not too happy.

Did get to see Durham #44 spin some laps on his PC rocket though.

That happened to me a few months ago. Granted, I showed up late around 4 but, I won't be going back after that experience. The track is decent in layout but, the dirt is complete crap the majority of the time. I goes from slimy grease to marbles and blue groove with little time in between.

I like Elsinore a bunch....Feb. of 2012 the vet track was killer and the main track was fun. When I went this year the vet track wasn't near as fun, they actually had cow manure in a few turns, smelt like shit!!!

The main track was good, fun and combined with the pro track it was waaay long. Good times. I love riding there.

The big, wide smooth looking track at the top / left of your pic is the truck course. The next two tracks with ponds are actually the single Main track. For some reason they had cut it into two separate tracks which ended up with two tracks that were each too short. Fortunately it is back to being a single track.

The powder sections were actually kinda dangerous. If someone was in front of you and they blew up a powder berm you literally couldn't see your own front fender. And it wasn't just berms but 30-40' long sections of powder.

That was a long drive for a 'beater' track.

I rode a 110 around the truck course....holy shit! MASSIVE!!!! I have a whole new amount of respect for those drivers... until you stand on one of those tracks and take in the full scale of it you just don't have any idea of how big those jumps are, monster turns, etc....I was impressed.

Ditto. I was riding at Glen Helen a month or two ago and rode over to the truck course. Johnny Greaves was there tearing around in his Monster Energy truck with the full semi support rig. They were doing engine testing or something but holy crap IIII ... those things are downright scary up close. I was right at the chain link fence and that thing was just screaming around the course two feet away, launching the jumps. Greaves likes to rev the snot out of his truck too.

Very impressive in person and what you see on TV just does not do them justice.

We did part of the GH truck course during Last Dog Standing. It is way too wide open for a bike. I was pretty much pinned in 6th on my 125 the whole time. It was fun though.

THE LAKE elsinore TRACK will be KILLER when the pro's get there at the end of the year. Just like it was in 2012 .Don't go by what it looks like now.

If all you guys stop going there and paying money,,they will have to get the track going again,,or shut it down..i'll bet that not that many guys are showing up and paying, so they dont have the money to keep it NICE ..

if the clowns that took over Elsinore would have spent the money on the tracks instead of lakes w/fountains,concrete everwhere (on property that doesnt belong to them), white picket fences,grass that will never grow,etc, etc etc, maybe it could have been a great place again

Every time I've been there since the track was reopened its always been in really good shape. My guess is that there was a race the day before and they just didn't have the time to groom it like they normally do.

I heard from someone over the weekend that lives down by Elsinore that most of the heavy equipment was repo'd recently and that they only have the funds and equipment to prep the track once a week. It was brought up they spent too much money on the fences, dead grass etc. and aren't turning the profit they expected.....such is the story of many motocross tracks.
