2014 Kawasaki KX 85 cc is said to be totally new from scratch to answer KTM dominance in the 85 cc class. Anyone have more information about this ?

If they have no one has seen a prototype or an actual running unit. Not saying it does not exsist but you would have thought something would have been seen by now.

Doubt it. Better chance at that new revised kawasaki mystery machine you speak of having a 4 stroke engine........

Newman funy shit there
But seriously it's not the bike it's the rider
I saw Kenny Bartram whip the full pro class back on early 2000's
At coopeand with a headlight on his ktm
And the dude was fast back then
Battling with brian Emig and whispern and other fast dudes when the gates were full
Not like today when there's maybe 10 in each class thanks to the the economy
I can understand suspension upgrades and re engineering the ergos
But the engine is proven to haul ass if you have the skill

WTF did you just say? Is that an attempt at poetry or possibly a chorus of a song?

Rumors I've heard it should look like the TM 85. New suspension, new motor and new frame. I'll bet they're waiting to release it at Lorretta's.

I think it was 1992 actually with the exception of conventional forks up to 1998 on the small wheel version. The big wheel version started out with some steel inverted forks.

Typically Kawasaki saves something for Loretta Lynn's. They might wait till August?

Kawasaki's home page is updated with the 2014 250 & 450F's but still list the 85 and 65 as 2013 models. Is that a hit/tease or marketing taking extra time to getting the BNG just right.

Well I hope they do a major suspension improvement...on both 85 and 65.

I hope Kawi comes out with something new for a change. Didn't seem to be slowing down Stack or Forkner at the LL Mid East regional though.. kids were flying on 85's/Supermini's.

Why change something that is winning?

With that logic, why design any new bikes at all?

KTM is a great example of pushing the limits with 65 and 85 development right now.. soon the gap will be crazy if everything stays the same with Yamaha, Suzuki, Honda or Kawasaki.

There sure was alot more orange front fenders on the line than green ones that weekend.

Maybe they'll turn the motor around and give it air forks.. Doh!

I agree with Georgie.

There's something new out there because I have talked to (2) people who have apparently saw the bike and heard a rumor Forkner was testing the bike.
