The prosecutor said that during opening statements. They can pretty much say they want they want within reason during opening statements - as long they try/attempt to prove it.But they will have to prove it with actual & factual evidence.
It should be interesting to hear what an expert witness says in that regards - I assume that is what they will try to do.
They (the defense) should also counter it with another expert - basically saying that no DNA evidence on his hands or under his nails does not necessarily mean he didn't attack him. They will talk about how many cases they investigated and how there were blatant knock down drag out brawls and the others persons DNA were never found on each other.
That could cause a reasonable doubt in the jury minds on that subject of evidence.
They,the eye witnesses should be the best witnesses of what went down though - they will hold more water then verbal type witnesses who were not there or circumstantial type expert witnesses.
Should be interesting to see how it turns out.

I will just follow it and see if I think the State proved without a reasonable doubt he is guilty of Second Degree Murder.
It's going to be hard for them to do that - but not impossible.
It will all come down to the altercation.
The 911 call, along with his remarks and testimony will be the downfall of Zimmerman. He pretty much shows his mindset, which in turn will help the jurors determine his intent on that night when he decided to follow Martin with a 9 mm with seven rounds in the magazine and one in the barrel.
Let's not discount that fact that Zimmerman was under doctors care and had a prescription for psychotic meds.
Lots of surprises to come on this one guys. And my guess is that the defense has shot all of their bullets trying to taint public opinion and the jury pool.
If anything good comes from this terrible incident. I hope that it reveals how easy it is to obtain a CCP. I have no issue with CCPs as long as people are properly vetted. A CCP should be for only well trained and well vetted citizens. Not the Zimmerman's of the world.

I'm pretty certain that you were one of the guys who thought the old guy who killed two fellas who were robbing his neighbors house was a hero. These guys weren't threatening the old man and he shot them as they were going away from him. So you believe that he was justified in killing them without a trial, yet Martin wasn't justified in trying to save himself from an armed guy stalking him late at night.
I think we all know the real reason why you think it was okay to shoot the guys robbing the neighbor's house and Martin. You've shown it pretty often.
