Stewart and "freeriding"

I don't watch a lot of riding videos anymore and the only clips I usually see of guys riding are posted here. I was curious if there are videos of James playriding at places like Ocotillo or Beaumont or somewhere like that. I usually can only find videos of him riding at tracks or on his own property. I would looooove to see clips of him out in Ocotillo or somewhere like that. His natural abilities on a bike would be awesome to see in places like that. There might be 100's of videos of him riding like that, but like I said......I don't see many these days and when I searched YouTube I didn't find much there either.

Im fully pickin up what yer throwin down Bro'co! That would be amazing! Woohoo

Hell even just spending the day hangin w/ James watching him practice LIVE would be so rad. You know how video makes everything look so weak compared to in person. Man i would go out testing my Pilot and my mechanic would video everything. I coudlnt wait to get home to see the footage....only to be so disappointed! Blink

So i can just imagine how rad watching James live and in person would be!

i do find it kind of weird that the last decade of 'top' guys seldom do any play riding. The old crusty/motoxxx videos show RC out in beamount when he was riding for pro circuit but other than that..nada.

guess it does take everything one has to get to the top and stay there in this sport..

I asked some of my buddies the same question and they looked at me baffled....."he has a compound to ride at" I agree with you it would be cool but no it has NEVER happened. He tests here then back to Florida, I think he should get out and play in the hills or ocatillo he might find it fun to ride a bike again, sometimes thats all it takes if your burned out (nnot saying he is) but to the best of my knowledge and its accurate I dont think he has EVER done any freeriding .....just tracks and testing and maybe some freeriding on the track but never been to the hills right behind the suzuki test track.

Look on youtube for ANY video of him riding hills or ocatillo and there is nothing but him on a track......its too bad hes missing out on such a fun side of riding dirtbikes IMO and I enjoy the hills as much as the track and will do a 2-fer whenever it comes up track/hills. I would really like to see james hit Beaumont when its all nice n tacky he'd KILL IT!

He probably saw the disaster it caused DV in his SX championship hopes and doesn't want to risk it.

But it would be AWESOME to see him out in the hills hitting natural terrain stuff.

I've seen him ride some hills where the test tracks are. Back when he was on a Yamaha, didn't see him jump anything, but he did ride some wheelies up the hills. I usually take my camera, that time I didn't. I need to buy a cheap video camera, Now that I have a bike again, I'm at the tracks more often. I see alot of cool shit, that some of you would like. Barcia is always good to watch on a practice day. As fast as he is, that kid has some fun to..

Does anyone remember that episode of bubbas world where he was at a foam pit with some freestyle guys and he jumped in a couple of times and then he wanted to try a backflip but Larry Brooks showed up and shut the whole thing down?

Also when you think about it, Chad Reeds backflip in Nitro Circus Country Fried is pretty gnarly! He just came out with no practice and hucked it and this was like a week before he rode the MXoN.

I think I remember a pretty massive step up off the side of one of the practice tracks that JS and Byrne and some else were hitting. That's the closest I can think of. I'd love to see that video if anyone has it. It's old, back in Stew's Kawasaki days.

I'm still so impressed with how hard McGrath would hit the hills and still does! Emig and Windham have had some good sessions over the years too.
