Outside of the winners these two guys impressed me the most. These young guns were on it espically moto 1!! Their endurance and speed were on display and it was mighty impressive. IMO Martin and Webb have the biggest upside of any of the young guys that were on the track at hangtown.( AC was not racing) Plus Martin has already proven himself in SX and the Heat will not effect him at all, it may get could in MN but its hotter than hell and more humid too from June to August so his endurance will really come into play in the mid round races.

Nice post & right in your observations.

AC will make things even more interesting & we're probably witnessing the New Guard in MX2...eventually, that is.

Funny you say that. I txted my buddy during the first moto that Webb and Martin should be on PC and Geico bikes. This was right after seeing Davalos cartwheel his PC bike off that jump and Emig just said that Bogle quit the freaking first moto of the year.

Webb really impressed me today and I believe he will be a champion one day. He's the total package when it comes to rookies and seems to have all the pieces of the puzzle aligned.

bogle got 19th in the first moto after crashing twice... he didn't quit

But yeah, webb especially impressed me, he had some sweet corner style I saw in some spots when I was walking around the track, and he was strong to the end of the moto. The second moto could have went better with the stall at the end, but for a rookie not a bad debut.

JMart should just get faster as he had to recover some from his broken wrist during supercross. That was not his full speed and endurance level by any means. As far as JM on a PC Kaw, Mitch shoulda coughed up a few more $$$

Webb should be on the Geico bike. Somebody in his camp really screwed the pooch on that one cause he was Honda's Golden boy and heir apparent to Barcia. Maybe Yamaha Will give him a better package to work with next year.

Emig said on the broadcast he pulled over and couldn't continue. Glad to hear he didn't

Webb and Martin both have bright bright futures. I always scratched my head when Honda let Webb get away.

I think alot of people were suprised with Webb because they dont pay attention to the amatuer racing. The kid has been killing it for a long time and has been racing alot of local pro stuff and eating them up to. I think we are only seeing the beginings of something big with him and Martin.
Another thing is that if you think that those Yamahas cant run with the PC and Geico bikes think again. Those motors are from cosworth and I would bet money that they are as powerful as any bike out there. I think you will see those Yamahas up toward the front on just about every start this year.

Hey, Cunningham was riding a damn cool race too. Gotta give that kid a lot of credit for charging all day.

How do the Yamahas they are riding compare to the Monster 250fs? I wasn't sure what level of factory support they get. Like the rest of you, I was very pleasantly surprised. I think I was most surprised to see Webb still charging at the end of the motos and an excellent post-race interview.
