hey just took the bike out for the first ride with a scotts steering dampner. I have a '13 250 sx currently running 14/48 (instead of stock 13/48) as I run a mix of both mx style bush tracks and desert riding. I found the dampner great at the high speed desert style but it felt too 'slow' on the mx style track. does anyone have settings the will work good for both? (either 2 separate settings or one for both). also the mount for the dampner has raised the handle bar height and was just wondering if anyone knows what bars have less bend to bring the bar height back to stock height?

cheers in advance.

Can't help you much on the dampener settings other than loosen it all the way for MX, but I run the Pro Taper RC bend and my bars are super low, height wise, almost straight across like a MTN bike. I'm short so I like the low feel sets me up in the attack position real well.

i ran one on my kx250

i had zero lowspeed damning..just dial in the highspeed for hitting rocks and stuff..then if u are going through a slow speed rock section you can just crank the lowspeed and then back it off when you get through it..

I cant say anything for the Scott's but I usually run my GPR at 35 - 40% for Grand Prixs and moto and 50% for desert races. I just bought a bike with a Scott's but haven't ridden it yet due to injury but I would like to hear other people's setting as well

Just for the record. It isn't "dampner", "dampener" or "damning". It is a steering "damper". Jumping off my soapbox now, ha!

Actually Scotts is a steering stabilizer, different than a damper like the HPSD. MX setting starting point is 12-16 clicks from full hard on the slow speed, 1 turn out on the high speed, and both sweep screws set at 9:00.

I have the Applied Stabilizer Ready Top Triple Clamp Submount, with Honda low bend bars on a 2010 CRF250, and that setup is the same bar ht. as stock.
