Austin TX

I have a friend thinking of moving down to Austin TX and Teggers thread reminded me of it. Hows the housing, city, activities? I know about the great music scene but what else is there really to do?

There’s Lake Travis, Marble Falls Lake, and its only 45 mins to the winery’s in Fredericksburg.

It really would be a great city to live in.

Is it a relatively clean city? It sounds nothing but good from what I've heard.

Thank you btw for the response.

Just stay off of I-35 between the hours of 3PM & 7PM.

If you can get away with a near-by town, that may be a benefit.

It is located in one of the most beautiful parts of Texas.

And Bonepony hit a nail on the head.

Great town. Anywhere west of I35 is nice. Round Rock is suburbia on steroids. Traffic has become pretty awful. Somewhere like Dripping Springs would be a good place to live.

I love Dripping Springs. Every time I go to Perdenales Falls State Park I want to buy a couple of acres out there to retire on.

We went there last summer, pretty place for sure. When we were en route from Enchanted Rock to the Pedernales State Park, we ran right into the funeral procession for Lady Bird Johnson where the road turned into the cemetery. That was one LONG procession !

Heres some pics from the Pedernales:

Johnson City is named for the Johnson clan - and I'll bet Lady Bird left this earth with about the same amount of stuff I'll leave with.

Now, I've been to Las Vegas, and between Vegas and Austin, I'll take Austin.

Austin is a really great town. It's the least "Texas" place in Texas.

You hafta admit, Washington county is very pretty. We have most of Harris county come here every spring to stomp around photographing our flowers and rolling hills.

That's true. Especially around wildflower season. But no 6th street and no Molly Ivins wannabes, so Austin has you guys beat by a little bit.

I actually prefer it that way,,,, 6th Street can be quite the zoo.

BUT, we do have Blue Bell, straight off the line too. Wink

I will say, its hard to beat Antones, La Zona Rosa & Austin City Limits.

I'm not gay, and I don't live in Austin either. Sorry to disappoint you. Trolling for gays on a moto website may not be very successful for you - maybe there's a flower arranging website out there somewhere that may be more to your liking.

People with the word "Dookie" in their screen name obviously have some kind of fascination with the anus.

you are the one who was refering to the wild flowers, not me. just noticed how quick you were to jump on the gay thing though. I am assuming your boyfriend gave you the name WhKnuckle due to your grip. Lighten it up and he will more than likely change the name for you---KISSES MY SWEET!

Dookiepile, you have zero clue what you are talking about regarding the wildflowers here in this county. Hows about you STFU and EABODs.
