Was Justin Barcia running a Rekluse or another auto clutch. Looked like when he fell in his Heat race, he picked his Honda up by the bars without grabbing the clutch lever.

Over the course of this seasons supercross I've seen a few riders crash and just get back up and ride(They weren't KTMs). It would be cool to have some confirmation as to who or if anyone is actually using a rekluse.

I would think all of the factories would have their own version of the Rekluse. I'd love to have a Rekluse personally.

I love mine! It is the aftermarket part that as improved my results more than ANY other part (including suspension).

Did it make me "faster"??? Probably not...but it improved my results by: reduced fatigue, and saved me a ton of time when I tip over of where with a stock clutch I'd have stalled my bike...I'm an off road guy, and on some of the more technical parts of the course, it is LITERALLY like cheating...Best $900 I've ever spent on a bike part.

I had to look twice but you can see clearly that he picks it up with his right hand and only lets go when his other hand is covering the clutch

no auto

How do they work? Does it magically keep your bike running if you tip it over?

Yea, they'll tell you anything for $$$, only thing he probably had was the custom clutch cover.

Some of us wondered about JS also being on the bandwagon, the discussin started after his whatever verison broke down. But to my understanding we newer got an answer? I figure his competition are pretty I tune about his secrets but this might be one of those things the fans (buyer of products) should not know about? Sometimes the most obvious questions remain unanswered while we get tons of whatever pointless discussions and info... Maybe related to what they market is not what they use.... But no one will ask the question of course, hush, hush! Wink

i remember sitting in the KTM pits when they were running motorex probably 2008 red bud nationals, and they were putting rotella in their bikes while they had motorex on the rig and bikes... not shocking to me.

Factory Honda wouldn't run anything but a Hinson. Hinson is a proven product that is 2nd to none when it comes to reliability.. I would think more along the lines of them having their own!

Would riders at this level really go to an auto clutch after so many years of riding/racing without?

ReKluse sponsors the factory KTM team...so I'd be surprised if the factory KTM guys weren't using them. I know Destry Abbott uses them...in endurocross I'd be surprised if ANYONE wasn't using them (assuming Rekluse makes one for the bike...I'm not sure if they have one for Beta, for example), and they aren't sponsored by a different clutch company. Even with the rekluse that I run, out of habit-that has been hard wired into my brain over 25 years of riding-when I tip over, I always grab the clutch lever. So grabbing the clutch lever, in and of itself doesn't necessarily mean that they aren't running one.

And if you had vague clutch feel you were likely on the z-start pro. The core EXP 2.0 that I run (the latest and greatest) feels EXACTLY (and I can't emphasize that enough) like a traditional clutch...so much so that if you were to get on my bike, you wouldn't even know there is a rekluse in it (until you tip over and the bike doesn't stall). They are THAT good. There is ZERO downside to this clutch, and a TON of upside! Besides the price-my EXP 2.0 was $900 (of course how many people drop that on a full exhaust system which does NOTHING to improve their results?)-I'm surprised more people don't run them (especially at the amateur level).

The rekluse didn't make me any faster...but it sure improved my results!

Yes. The new versions feel exactly like a standard clutch, with full manual override (so you can use it just like a standard clutch)...they are only there when you need them and-essentially-get out of the way (you don't know its there) when you don't.

Watch that YouTube video I posted.

Rekluse doesn't sponsor the MX and SX factory team. They are Hinson backed as well.

He mentioned endurocross...and rekluse sponsors the off road factory team (the team-Mike Brown, Taddy Blazusiak, etc-that was competing in endurocross).

Honda has had simular tech in their line up for several years. It is on a mid level stepping stone manual clutch trainer 250cc sport quad. I don't know if that product design is involved with this or not but they have it.

I considered a rekluse but I would think that after a while, you would become dependent on it and would have trouble riding a bike without one. Using the clutch properly is a skill. Not sure I want to give that skill up. I guess if all bikes had auto clutches it wouldn't be a big deal, but they don't.
