I'm trying to get voted in to an off-road race that pays $30k to the winner! Last year I was a co-driver and we had a 6 minute lead at the last checkpoint. The buggy broke with only 13 miles left (after 40).

http://www.pirate4x4.com/forum/showthread.php?t=706727

You'll have to register to vote but you'll probably enjoy the site if you're into 4x4s.

Also, I'll be on pit pass radio at 5:45 PST. http://www.pitpassradio.com/ I'll be talking about the X Games Gold and sex. Tune in!

Thanks guys!

I don't know Rusty.

Yeah, Pirate laid the smack-down on Charlie Wenzel!

Thanks man!

Chadwik.......lookin good.......what kindov runnin gear are you gonna throw under it? Rockwells? 1 Ton?? Seems here lately all the good places to ride are gettin shoved under by the greenies. Tellico especially. Been there more times than I can remember and now its just not the same anymore. Windrock is surely to be next.

I was going to pitch in and vote for you even if it meant registering but it seems that you have 248 votes and your nearest competitor has only 128 votes.

I bid you well and hope nothing but success for you.

Call back when the vote is closer if I have to 'log in'.
I REALLY don't want to be on a mailing list.

Regards,
Rimmy

As for now I am just going to run stock drive train(258,4 speed) except for the diff's.(still undecided on diff choice, but they will have posi and solid axle's in the rear.....the Bogger's on it chew like no other as well). The body is bolted on the frame and I am waiting for a buddy to come help me with the dash and steering coloum.

It would be nice to drop a SBChevy in there, but then the rest of the drive train has to go or shit will break. It's one of those thing's.....I've hade it for 14yrs and have rebuilt the engine, tranny and T-case.....so scrapin that for a better drive train seems like a waste to me. I'll post some pics when I get it running and steering.....

Thanks again everyone!

Rim Lock: In 6 years I have not received any mail from them, or any of their advertisers. One good thing about registering there is it helps the land use fight! Pirate has over 100k registered users and as that number grows, the off-road community gets more recognized. Pirate has a team that writes letters and have set up a letter generator to make it super easy to be heard. Thanks for checking on that vote status!

MX7MX: One of Pirate's online rallies was to save Tellico. They are still trying!

Chadwik: What are you building? It's hard to tell, is that a Jeep tub?

It's a old 1980 CJ7 I've been re-building for a couple years....old body was rotted pretty bad so I bought an aluminum one from a place out of BC....

Done. Good luck to you!

Now I'm curious though; I didn't realize you were the guy that won the X Gold. How did you loose your leg? If you consider that question rude, just say so; I'm not trying to be a jerk.

Ridge......I went to the work days they had this past year. Been going there for the past 8 years. But its just not the same now that Trails 8, 9, 7 and bottom 2(rock garden) is now closed for a year. But that year is really a way of saying for good. I'm glad to see fellow 4x4 enthusiast's on Vital/MD.
