Just read on Facebook that Feld is putting the privateers in a building this weekend that won't be open to the public.

Pretty lame if this is true!

Another example of Feld spotlighting the stars and not caring about the little guys- Who need as much help as they can get.

I know it stinks for a few hard core fans but lets look at it this way.

#1 if the riders are inside and the weather is bad, that's a good thing.

#2 with not being allowed to sell anything it won't be a revenue loss.

#3 Feld has their reasons I'm sure and screwing over Privateers isn't one of them.

Isn't the weather forecast for Seattle this weekend 50 degrees and a 100% chance of rain? Don't the factory teams all have climate controlled 18 wheelers? don't most privateers run out of sprinter vans and box vans?

shit, if i were them, i'd thank Feld. they essentially just tossed the "little guys" a blanky.

In the past everyone's been outside rain or shine and they all fit before. Some of these guys will might not even make the night show so the pit party is the only exposure that they get.

I'm sure the privateers are thankful for the roof but why can't they allow the public access? Assuming max occupancy isn't an issue which it very well may be.

If they are in a separate area the small teams also are provided a bit of security when they are off running practice or heat races.
The big teams usually have their own security.

It should be open to the public, or give the privateers an option to pit in a public area at least.

Almost half the normal pit area is taken up by construction of a new building. The privateers are in the Event Center this year, where all of the pits will be next year.

The whole deal is pretty crappy. For some of us this is our hometown race and we bank on this event for exposure to our sponsors and much more. We have had things planned for months for this event and now...NOTHING. I and sponsors have spent money on custom graphics, autograph posters, food for a sponsor lunch we had planned, t- shirts for fans, giveaways etc etc and now nobody gets to see us. Trust me we would all rather deal with the rain then being under cover a longs ways from the pit area and zero exposure.....once again Feld does not care about the privateers.

How many motor homes do they let in for the factory guys? Don't they already have semis to hang out in?
