I wouldn't doubt it. RC is far from being a dumbass, in my opinion. He's nine years older, won everyting there is to win, is a millionare many times over, and get's a chance to go out on top. I know it's easy to use hindsight from an outsiders perspective, but I wouldn't doubt it at all.

MC (The king) - Has 7- 250sx titles.. Dominated a class for almost a decade.

Rv- Has 2- possibly on his was to a 3rd.... Cant compare him to MC at all. (Nor is he as consistently as dominant as mc.

Adam C will not be a threat to him, because he will likely still be in the 250s or just transitioning in 3 years. Tomac is a very grounded, disciplined, and fast young man and there are others as well. There are always new young turks, but very few rise to the very top.

RV has a combined ability, fitness, skill, and determination level that are just about impossible to beat. To do so will take someone with a combination equal to or higher than his. Right now, that person just isn't out there-in much the same way no one was Carmichael's equal. There were very fast guys sure-Windham, DV, etc. but no one who had it ALL. Dungey is a damn close second, however.

And every win, every championship won, adds to the mindset of the person winning that they are supposed to be winning. It gets very, very hard to beat a champion who trains harder than anyone else, has an extremely high skill level, has no quit in him, and is hungry to win.

Actually, Carmichael did have an extremely deep field and still crushed everyone. So did McGrath.

I think everyone mixes up a "shallow field" with a "great rider". Just because that rider is so great and not many others even get a chance to win doesn't mean the field isn't extremely deep and competitive. The greats separate themselves. Villopoto is one of the greats, and he's separating himself from a deep field right now. Same as Carmichael and McGrath did.

just think about how many wins he would have if not for injuries. but honestly james is not the same rider he was 4 years ago. he only crashed because he truely tried things the other guys wouldnt. he didnt have all these little things like now. i still think he is the best sx rider we have ever seen even though his wins will not show it. illnever forget watching him doing the triple in seattle in horrifc conditions in seattle back in 07 or something like that. it was amazing
