Other than Cianciarulo, why hasn't Pro Circuit made more of an effort into picking up guys starting as early as the B class, or even some promising young supermini riders? Don't get me wrong, PC has a great team and they will always be loaded with talent, but it seems like Geico has done a tremendous job getting guys before anyone else can, and you can't deny that it has worked well for them (Tomac, Bell, Barcia, now Bisceglia). Star and Rockstar are also making a solid amateur effort.

It just seems like the game is changing, and PC just hasn't jumped right in like some of the other teams. Why do you think that is?

PS...I'm not one of the guys who thinks Mitch should just cut his losses because he is having one frustrating Supercross season. I am willing to bet that they will have a lot of success outdoors, and based on their track record, probably forever....

There's more going on behind the scenes that you think.

I was thinking the exact same thing. Team Green has always been on it.

You don't see Team Geen anymore...It's not like when Larson rode for Xtreme Team Green and all that. They don't have a legit "Team" anymore. There might be a lot going on behind the scenes with guys on Kawis, but they definitely don't advertise riding for PC or anything like that.

Just curious as to why they aren't more public with a Pro Circuit am team...

Great Am. support but no straight path into the pro's. I think the OP is talking about signing long term contracts like GEICO Honda, TLD Honda, and the Rockstar Yamaha effort that has already signed Webb and Anthony Rodriguez.

After a strong showing in the 85 class at Loretta's last year, the TLD team signed Justin Hoeft (or however you spell it)... that was after an 85 RIDE!! Same goes with the signing of McElrath after he had a good showing at LL last year.

Seems to me like, other than AC92, the big names are getting signed before PC/Kawasaski has a chance. The game has changed and Team Green isn't the same advantage that it used to be in the amateur ranks.

I've always thought of Pro Circuit as the New York Yankees of moto - they don't grow the talent, they buy it in its prime. On the other hand Geico depends on its farm system. That being said, of the current PC team Wilson, Baggett, and Hill are all Team Green grads.

Interesting point, everyone knows PC's history, and 99% wouldn't pass up a chance to ride with them. Their track record speaks for itself. I just hope that their lack of a "farm system" doesn't hurt them down the road.

I think it would be awesome to see the team aspect in the amateur ranks, but at the same time I wonder how far it would go. AC was (basically) a factory rider in the supermini class.. would we see factory KTM 65 racers?

Cobra already has a factory effort for 50cc and 65cc riders, showing up at the major races with full support and bringing their big named riders their race bikes with them.

Team Green has the largest amateur support program out there. I know what your saying about not having an elite team like Xtreme was back it its time.

As for Pro Circuit amateur support, it is alive and well. The difference between their program and a Geico or Rockstar Yamaha is, PC is at the amateur races to support every rider. Rather then focus on a few guys they chose to support anybody who needs it. Pro Circuit is the only performance after market company to send a completely stocked truck with 5 technicians (offering free service) to all the big amateur races.

I do agree PC has not focused all their effort on one or two guys, a trend that has seen other pro teams get young talent very early in their careers. PC is doing that now. Hill, Cianciarulo and a few others are headlining that program. I personally feel PC has an amateur program that is far better at helping those who race, not just helping those who win!

Next time you are at one of the big amareur nationals and find you have a mechanical problem, search out the Pro Circuit race support truck and you will understand and appreciate their current program.
