How does the AMA/FIM rule on the incident when Barcia cut the track at Daytona vs when Wharton cut the track at Indy? Not implying either meant to cut the track, or intentionally did it, but both were similar in that they got out of shape, lost control and crossed a lane of the track. Sure Barcia waited, but so did Wharton while on the ground trying to get up and recover his bike. Similar incidents, different outcome?

Waiting on your head in the dirt is not the same as waiting while rider x comes back around the turn and by you.

I wish there was some better video to see what happened with wharton, I just saw him crash, couldn't tell how far from the corner he was or if he gained or lost positions.

I was wondering why nobody was talking about this. It looked like Barcia was shut out of the corner but just rode around the tuf blocks and cut the corner. He shoulda started dead last, not in third or forth.

I wondered too but let it go because everyone Barcia screwed blew right by him as the race went on, doesn't make it right though. The Wharton ruling seems a bit harsh from the little you could see provided. Hope they get their act together but I'm not holding my breath.
As far as Barcia, he is once again pulling his old BS (Indy) that won't fly with the big boys, bad idea. Time for another sit down with Stanton.

Barcia waited until the guys that were in front of him went by him. Wharton cut an entire two sections. Big difference. I thought they should have penalized that guy on the Yamaha in the 250 lcq as well.

But if Barcia didn't cut the course he woulda been dead last not in third or forth.

Huh? How? He was third when he went off the track and waited for a few people to pass him and then he took off. Villopoto is the one who is exploiting the loophole by just blasting down the side of the track every time he goes off of it.

Watch the race you'll see what he did. He was cut off from the corner, the whole pack woulda passed him if he didn't cut around the tuf blocks. The rule used to be that you must enter the track where you left the track. At some point they changed the rule for safety reasons. RV ripping up the side of the track is even worse imo.
