I really don't have a preference on having them or not. The testing shown doesn't really show what would happen with the weight of the body stacking on the neck. It was an informative video, though.

What I am sort of scared of is compression. Lets say you land pretty much straight on ur head, and the brace would actually stop your neck from rolling and compress the spine instead, causing broken neck and brain injuries?
I think its would be better to create a different design helmet and maybe a lower type of neckbrace that doesnt handle much impact.

It did mention that the device would not be as useful in a full on, pile-driver kind of crash. It shows that the brace is generally effective with crashes where the flexes in any other direction but directly down. I believe it saved Elizabeth Bash's neck. Tomac speared head-first into a whoop a few weeks ago and walked away from it.

I find the video & testing a little more reassuring.. but really if your time has come not much you can do about it. Dude says as much at the start of the presentation.

Airbag tech built into the helmet or brace.. thats really the only way to do it.

BTW implementing something like that would be severely expensive. We would also be told that saving yourself from death/paralysis is worth the relative small price... hm.

Pretty sure Tomac does not wear a neck brace and did not wear one in that crash, but I see what you're saying. Like I said... I have no preference. I see benefits to with or without.
