I'll testing out the motor changes & Scalvini pipe to see if it's better than the FMF when I get to Florida on the 26th.

Fearo.. thanks for the input. so 172/40 worked for you...what needle are you using?
No problem man. I am using the stock needle in the 3rd position (stock). I have been tempted to try the NECJ needle because everyone raves about it, but as of now i am satisfied with the stock needle. The NECJ is basically more or less the same as the stock needle, but with a leaner bottom (as mynewcr kindly explained to me). And in truth, the stock needle is very rich at low RPM, but it is not much of an issue for me, as most tracks in Belgium and Holland are deep sand, so there isn't really much time spent in the lower RPM's. I am at sea level by the way.

What I have also noticed is that jetting seems to be different from the 2012 to the 2013 model and I think its because of the updated Vforce design. I have a friend that has a '12 and ran a 45/175 combo. My '13 wouldn't even start with a 45 pilot.

You certainly have a good point about the updated V-force possibly having a effect on the 13s jetting. It's funny that I went the 40 pilot based on MXA & you guys are able to run a 45 175 combo which is definitely in the right ballpark. You definitely should do yourself a favor & try the NECJ needle. It is MUCH better than any of the 3 KTM needles that comes with our bike. Another really good one is a KTM200 optional needle NOZE. I have it & tried it & it definitely worked better than any of the needles supplied with of our bike but I still feel that the Suzuki NECJ or the NECH are better choices.

Fearo... thanks and it makes a lot of sense. Based on your and Digger’s input... if using the NECJ needle (which runs leaner on botton than Stock) ... a richer 42 pilot would be needed to compensate the new needle. Thanks to both.

Fearo. It def does idle real rough with the 45 pilot, but I only had a few hours to ride that day and just wanted to make sure I was rich enough. Def. not where I plan on keeping it.

Yeah, good idea. It's always better to be too rich than to be too lean I say Smile .

You'll get there, I wouldn't say it's a hard bike to set up, especially now you know the ballpark numbers of what people are running. It has always amazed me how KTM 2-strokes come jetted so incredibly lean in stock trim. My 2008 SX 150 came stock with a 175 main (I think) and I ended up with a 220...
