Did Canada forget his helmet?

I wonder what was the story about his helmet? I know they black flagged him because he didn't have time to buckle his helmet and from safety point of view I am glad they did but what's the story?

I believe it had to do with the helmet removal system either not being installed or not installed properly.

As you know AMA requires use of the various systems at the pro level.

So he'd have been black flagged even if he got it buckled correctly?
