Yeah, well, I honestly believe Pastrana was faster than RC and could have eclipsed him, so how's that for controversial. But Pastrana made different decisions, and it's hard to argue with them in retrospect. JMB is little bit the same in the sense that his career is shaded by his decisions, although he for sure accomplished a lot more in MX than Pastrana did.

The talent vs. achievements thing is always has some tension in it. Marty Tripes may have been the most talented rider I've ever seen; he could make Bailey, Lechien, JMB, Everts, Windham look like RC or RJ. But Tripes didn't accomplish much.

I don't think it's too controversial to choose JMB as your gold standard for talent and "best" rider. Everts accomplishments as a racer eclipse him, though, IMO, and it's debatable on pure talent.

We're blessed to have witnessed some truly impressive riders over the years.

Six pages? Really?

I haven't read any of it, but if he wants to stay in Europe, more power to him. Some guys prefer it. Everts, Cairoli, etc.

I totally disagree that Ken jumped in to hastily, it was his first year racing the usa national circuit for the first time, on a KTM team that isn't as strong as it is in Europe. The bikes will be better this year and KROC will be in the running in both SX and be battling with Tomac for the 250MX for a Title.
Now that Roczen has a year under his belt I wouldn't be surprised if he wins the SX title. I fully expect him to win the MX title.
