what are your thoughts on the new travel schedule?

some of the tracks are scheduled more towards an easy travelling schedule, then the last 5 weeks come in and it's all over the place.

just curious, GuyBro
I don't have a hint on where that TBA round is, but...

It was doing so good before it hit Washougal. After that is kind of a mess.

I'll likely do like I did this year and drive to the first eight, then head home after Washougal and fly to the next three, and camp at Elsinore. That way I'll also be at home for the X Games in L.A.

Wouldn't it be nice if the series went in some sort of logical order to avoid long drives across the country? They go from Mass to Mich to Washington to Minn to NY... Why can't they work out a better order for the races to help out the little guys (small teams and privateers)? I know, I know, it's not about those guys... but if there was a better order to things, you may see more circuit chasers out there.

At least the June 1 to July 6 run isn't too bad. You might see a good crop of privateers show up for all of those events.

I was wearing one of these this year and walked right by you. You never even noticed me.

You would either have to start or end there. Thats the only way I see getting around that drive.

Mark, I thought you bet my life.... Either way, I think you lost on September 8. Pay me at the HOF deal tomorrow, in the form of a beverage, please.

Sorry the travel pattern gets tough after Washougal but it has a limited window when it can happen, and then there's Loretta Lynn's, and we tried to end two weeks early to help everyone by cutting the time on the road down.

But the beginning out until the stretch is much better than it's been, and all told it's roughly 1700 miles shorter than 2012. It will never be perfect, but we should never stop trying.

I like that it's more concise for sure. There was a lot of vacation time in there before. And the first two thirds is awesome.

Of course, it'd be easier to know how the second half of the schedule plays out if I knew what region the TBA was in...within 500 miles or so. Wink

Why can't they say it's in Utah?

I'm occasionally a betting man, and I'd bet that if the deal was done (unless there are multiple options still in play), they could announce it. If not, they've got Steel City as a fallback position.

It seems more like a way to get twice the buzz with two announcements but then maybe the inks not dry yet like you said.

I mean team managers are already talking about it.

I saw you, I just thought you were on another one of your ninja missions to the shitter......so I decided to leave you alone. When I went back to find you afterwards, you were gone....it was like you just vanished....like magic.

How can you figure up the mileage to compare it to 2012?

I can't get "TBA" show up on mapquest, bing, Google and Yahoo maps.

Perhaps someone with better calculating skills than mine could use this tidbit of info to figure out the exact location of the missing date.

I know it's been mentioned, but why no round in Texas? Is this not the 2nd biggest MX state behind California? From an outsider looking in that seems a bit odd.

I was lucky enough to go to the first running of Freestone in 2007 (my one and only national) and I thought it was sick! Great place, good viewing, plenty of space and a decent track. Why take it off the schedule? Does the heat in midsummer have anything to do with it? Surely it would be worthwhile to shift around the schedule to accommodate a round in a state that has given so much to motocross over the years?

the ama and these clowns don't have any logic

this is REALLY sad, Mount Morris over Steel city???? REALLY??

Lake Elsinore is still on the schedule?? That track is a pilk of horse shit.

When the attendance numbers go down due to the utter disregard for the overall state of the sport, I hope someone who works at a private equity firm comes in and does some serious revamping, cause alot of these decisons ARE RETARDED AND ARE RUINING THE FUKIN SPORT!!!!!

I bet the TBA track is gonna be some dog shit track thats man made and in a flat field in some fuck-all state

No it will be at a track that the owner comes to Lorettas and sucks ass with free help or plenty of kick backs to the sanction body.

This is a joke, looks to me that this is extremely privateer "un-friendly" like they are trying to cut down on the people that can make the "whole" series. Kind of like a certain world series that is running itself in the ground. Next entry fees will go up and you will have to acquire pro points to get a pro license....................oh wait, that's already happened.

Forgot to add, now I am seeing why most tracks in my area want to go outlaw and have refused area qualifiers. Those that are not on the payroll or butt buddy list anyway.

I'm sure DC knew cutting two tracks off the schedule would cause a lot of harsh comments on this message board, but he knows he has to do what is best for the sport. If we get all motos live next year that will be just another feather in MX Sports hat.

Anyone that is in a leadership position knows they will get a lot of backlash no matter what they do. At least DC listens and seems to try his best to do what is best for the sport. Looking at the last four years can anyone say the sport would be better off if MX Sport didn't take over?

Davey I will buy you a drink anyway but the 2013 Elsinore National has not run yet. But does it really matter, no. Cause I can't go that weekend anyway. I have to spend time at Lake Havasu then for medical reasons. To get the F#^k Out Town for a little R & R.

How about that TBA race be held at Honda Hills. Cool Yeah, I said it. PLace has history, rolling hills, tons of parking, right off I70 and I'm sure the owners would reopen it in a heart beat. As far as I know Deirdre and Scott still live at the track.

I know I got you thinking Davey......send Barnett in to revamp the track. Bring in the massive Ohio crowd....... Wink

I'm not fully aware of the all the politics and realize it gets pretty deep but I agree, Mx seems to be run true to the sport compared to that spectacle they call supercross. I'm not convinced that he is such as perfect guy but do appreciate his comments on here, most in his position don't give a shit about answering to us. Glad we are getting some changes in the schedule, I wished the other open date would be Gatorback then everyone would have something.
