We had a good time.Brought my chick from Seattle.It was her first National though I had taken her to Anaheim 1 before.She had a great time.Rooted hard for Ashley and was a fan of Dungey, Canard(Heal up man), Hamy,and Villo though she waited to get the RV hat signed that she bought and got 3 people from him when the autograph signing ended.My buddy Mikey Willard had a great qualifying day and a terrible outing in both motos though.My take on Washougal was this.Nice people.Subdued crowd.Very clean area.(no trash).Worst track for visibilty I've ever seen.Very one lined.No dust.No jumps a zinger couldn't clear.Did I mention,the WORST visibility I've ever seen?Small crowd.Small variety of food sales.Very few booths for products,gear etc.Oh,I did see Nerd.Had a very nice talk with him for about 20 minutes.It was good to see him.Saw Gibby from a distance early on.Looked for him the rest of the day but couldn't find him.I fly back to LA tomorrow.Hope to purchase a bike this week.I'm jonesing to ride bad now!

No.I was on the other side.I knew he went down.Nerd filled me in on the Femur but not the rider involved.

I was on top of our MotoSport.com trailer and saw the crash, but didn't catch who the other rider was. The anouncer Brian Barnes was unaware that Trey had even fell.

I want to start off by saying that I love Washougal. I have been going to the national since I was 3 yrs old. In response to Friday's Post, yes there aren't any big jumps, but that is not what washougal is about. The track is very fast, very wide-open, and the most beautiful track on the circuit. I don't know if you walked into the hills, but you can see the whole track from up on the hill.

In regards to there not being any big jumps, each year there are new big jumps built prior to the national. The AMA tells the track designers to knock them down and take them out. For some reason, the AMA wants to keep large jumps off the Washougal track.

I'm probably just jaded from so many trips to Glen Helen,Steel City,High Point,and Budds Creek.Wash. is beautifully green.But I went to the top of the hill.In comparison to many other tracks it is terrible viewing.At other tracks you can stand at lower areas and still see more than one turn or jump.Seemed we were very limited.The dirt looked pretty and the trees were awesome.I personally think the exterior of Glen Helen is dry and ugly.But the track is wider,more lines,rougher,more varied,and can be seen from all over in large chunks.If I had never seen other tracks I would just think Wash. was awesome.The pros were heard to say there were few lines and no jumps.Great track for Amatuers I would think.I rode it 2 years ago. Had a blast.Just wish we could have seen more of the track without having to be on the top of the hill. Still,any day at a National is a great day.Smile
