I strongly disagree with you. There are lots of passionate mx riders with money to burn that would order custom color ways for boots. I'm not saying everyone is going to want them but there are lots that would.
Of course a few will, but not enough to warrant a company making new tooling and having people specifically work on one single item out of possibly hundreds. If you don't believe this, try talking to a manufacture and see what they say.

Jett boots have interchangeable panels for a semi custom look.
Sidi sells replacement parts for the T/A and SRS boots in the different colors they sell the boots in. So you can do the same by buying different color pieces if that is really what you wanted to do.

TerryK speaks the truth.

Manufacturers are focused on lack of custom(ers) and not concerned about any loss of sales due to lack of custom offerings. To be clear not I'm bagging on your idea only reflecting the harsh economic realities this industry faces going into 2013.
