lol. thats a good way of putting what i was thinking into words. yes dean may have a tougher time getting top 5's and podiums in sx in the big boy class (tough but do able) but outdoors... give your head a shake
Thats just the way I see it. Maybe his second yr in the 450 class but not this year. I just don't see him hanging with Reed, Villopoto, Dungey, Stewart, Canard (excluding injuries), barcia (excluding injuries) indoors. I will give you top 5 outdoors but I don't think he will be a podium threat. Even then Reed, Dungey, Villopoto, Alessi, Stewart (if he plans on racing), possibly Barcia will all be hard to beat.

I'm good, stop by here from time to time, but mostly lurk. Your hilarity drew me out of hiding! How are things in the Great White North?

Bored with your board, or did you relinquish control of that Canadian conglomerate? Any Erin sightings up there? Our boy Andy is all rock star these days and barely takes my calls, eh...
When are you moving to Monaco? From some of the $800k entry-level fixer uppers I've seen you hawking on FB, you must be rolling in the dough!

Hammer has retired with all his real estate loot, and now spends his time riding his Gold-Wing down to the bingo hall to pick up some blue-hairs.

Let me drop some info on you guys.

1. Maybe RCH is unable to sign Dean because to have Factory bikes you must order Factory parts from Japan around August.
2. Maybe they made a run at Dean and he blew them off and now they are not interested.
3. Maybe they have other plans for the team.
4. Maybe they have the money but dont feel like paying the $850K asking price.
5. Maybe it is all of the above.

You guys are all speculating as to what is going on and why oh why would they not pick him up. It is not just that easy people. To run a guy in the 450 class of Dean's caliber you need practice bikes, test bikes, race bike, and all with enough parts to get you through 28-30 races a year. Plus you need bonuses, which an insurance policy will run you about $300K, plus the salary, plus the travel, mechanics, etc. etc. etc. When it comes down to it your looking at nearly $1.5-2M more and thats if you could get all of the equipment.

Its not just about the dollars, there is a ton that goes into it.

we're not talking about game fish here like trout or bass mutt.

there is no limit to the vital minnow, just like there's no limit on carp or sucker fish. just toss em on the bank and let the birds get em.

It'll be interesting to see if we get the Josh Hill of 2008 next season, or the Josh Hill of 2012 who had minimal speed and a lot of crashes, but I'm sure that if anyone can help, it is RC.

J-Law always helped a lot of people, still a lot of people hate him... so i guess if you are a good guy you are a tool.
