Next up MX2. if team USA wants a chance to win Baggett has to do it. I don't see Dungey beating Cairoli and i don't see Barcia beating Herlings. Baggett sould be able to get in a fight with Vanhorebeek. The MX2 race to me is the most important race this weekend since the competition is the closest.

Team USA 3rd, team Europe 2nd. Only 12 secs between the 2 riders. A lot closer then in MX1 but don't forget Dungey had some problems.

Next up MX open where Barcia will take on Herlings. I probably can't watch that race because i have some other stuff to do (trying to get out of it lol) but i expect the difference between those 2 to be well over 1 minute.

Thank you for typing it slowly Huckster. English indeed is not my first language so this makes it easier for me to understand. If i can't understand it now you might also type it in dutch, french, german, spanish or italian. Those 5 languages i can speak as well. I'm curious... how many languages do you speak Huckster ?

OK.. first things first. Reread the 1st post of this thread. There is nobody who mentions FIM vs AMA. All it says is that Robgvx is daring us for a fair team race between team USA and team Europe. It is not stated that the euro's have to ride the world championships and that the Americans have to ride the AMA series. It's Europe vs USA.. capiche ?

Then all of a sudden i see a post of APLMAN 99
"If you are going to do that, you should do it AMA vs. FIM. Otherwise, the "US/AMA" team only has a depth of 3, vs. almost the rest of the entire field."
i'm going to give him the benefit of the doubt as well. After all, i think the 99 refers to his year of birth so the kid is only 13 years young.
The USA team indeed has a depth of 3. But they are not racing the rest of the entire field. They are racing a team with a depth of 3. (Cairoli, Roczen and Herlings). I understand that a 13 year old kid might have got his wires crossed so he's of the hook.

If you look at how big western europe is compared to the USA, at how many inhabitants live on both sides and on how many bikes are sold on each side those 2 are pretty much evenly matched. No need to snatch one rider away because he has riden 29 races on the other side of the pond. Roczen is from team Germany, which makes him a European. I think you should be able to understand that Huckster..

Now, do you understand that it is not FIM vs AMA but Europe vs USA ? Or do i have to type it in dutch, french, german, spanish or italian ?
Ken Roczen raced the AMA national/SX last year.....I am not making this shit up. He LEFT the GP's to come do that...again, not making this stuff up. Therefore, in the fictitious race that we are having, he would be on the AMA team along with Musquin, and Rattray(is he there?) You would get Zach Osbourne since he is a GP rider this past season....See how it works? Now if you don't want to play your game by those guidelines, I understand. I will take my ball and go home....

I am not snatching anything except maybe a beer out of the fridge tonight....I did not make Ken Roczen come race the AMA series nor am I making it up that he rode over here this year and finished 2nd in SX and 4th in the outdoors. Again, in any of the 5 languages(by the way that is very impressive) that you want, I am NOT playing the EURO vs American game. My game is AMA vs GP....It SERIES vs SERIES.....not rider vs rider, or country vs country or continent vs continent....I want to put the riders that race the AMA series(KEN ROCZEN included) up against the GP boys(Zach Oz included).....Now do you want to play that game or can you not let go of the wunder kind? Are you now able to Understand(begrijpen, comprendre, razumjeti, Verstehen) my point?

oh and let me know when they hand out the trophies for practice and qualifiers...I am curious what TEAM will win those....

Relax Huckster. I allready agreed with Roczen not being on our team. To bad you guys need excuses to have a chance to win an evenly matched event but ok. I'll take it anyway.

Herlings 1st
Barcia 6th (if he will not be disqualified afterwards for recieiving outside help)

1min22 difference between Herlings and Barcia....

It was fun today. Team USA will improve tomorrow. They had some bad luck with Dungey's goggles and with Barcia riding over his head. I wish them all the luck for tomorrow Smile

btw... don't come and say you want Roczen in your team now. Only a few posts ago you said you picked Baggett over Roczen. Your words, not mine...
"I will give you the benefit of the doubt that your understanding of the english language is not so strong so I will type slower this time....Ken Roczen is a German who races in the AMA Nationals/SX series. The debate for me is NOT American rider vs Euro rider. It is AMA series is stronger than GP series....Ken Roczen races in the AMA series as does Musquin, Rattray, Reed etc. and thusly considered an AMA rider in this debate.....It's not about individual rider, its not about country or continent, its about series vs series. AMA flag vs GP flag....clearer for you? My #1 lites rider would have to be Baggett based off his domination of Roczen this season but Ken surely would be the lites rider on the B team....."

Don't get mad because your team is coming in 2nd, and don't go and change the rules as we play. I agreed on AMA vs FIM because you are to sissy to let a 100% european guy race for team Europe.
You guys choose Dungey, Baggett and Barcia. I choose Cairoli, Van Horebeek and Herlings. That's it....

Sissy? lol...dude you crack me up.....You do realize that it's Saturday and today means nothing right? Why are you having such a problem understanding that I have NO INTEREST in the EURO vs USA deal? That's not my thing and never has been my debate...AMA vs GP....AMA is a tougher series with better riders.....When your GP champs stop leaving the GP's to come over here, I will consider changing my opinion....until then, the GP CHAMPS coming here speaks volumes.

FYI, I choose TEAM USA to WIN a TEAM EVENT......This isn't an individual race or did you not know that about the MXDN? Country vs Country.......

Does Roczen qualifies for team USA now or can we still keep him in team Europe?

Huckster chickened out just as i thought Laughing

He must feel really bad his superstars were beaten by some euro amateurs. And to think it was only practice and qualy lol. Tomorrow is raceday. Then is it that matters. To bad he did not have the guts to wait for raceday.

I'm not sure if Roczen qualifies for team USA of team Europe. I think he is with team Mars Dizzy Laughing

Today's lesson, no chest thumping threads before the DesNations. These threads are almost as bad as the people who dig them up and go "Na na na na na, I was right!"

There is no "team Europe." If you want to let the U.S. have 6 teams or so and then choose the best results from all those riders.

You would want 5 more US teams to get their asses handed to them? With a 2 min gap on average on your best team. Funneh!! :D

Luckely for you there isn't Wink

Today team Europe would have completely destroyed you. I have to admit though, that it wasn't a fair fight to begin with. They just don't makes tracks like this in the USA. I pretty much knew before the event took place that team USA did not have a chance, although i thought that the gap would not be THAT big. The USA riders had some bad luck though. Baggett did ok in his 2nd moto, and Barcia did very good in his 2nd moto, but that was about it. 10 days of practising in the deep sand just isn't enough to tame a track like Lommel.

If there was team Europe, they would not always win like. Team USA will win as well, probably even more then Team Europe, but they would not have so much wins in succesion. The fight would be a lot more fair.

Now let's quit the talk
- about the GP's being 2nd rate
- about the GP's even being slower then the amateur championships in the USA
- about how every american superstar could go to the GP's and simply dominate the championship

I think today we have seen that both series are very good. That both series have their difficulties. In America you have to have guts to jump gaps like Larocco's leap, and you have to be very fit because of the heat. But today we saw that, in order to become a world champion, you have to be able to win on tracks like Lommel.

They both are great series. Let us enjoy both of them and stop bashing on the other series.

btw Huckster. Sunday came and went... now what ?

Now what? Monday comes and most of us go back to work...but seriously, Cairoli and Herlings are on another level at that track. Totally blown away and impressed at how they rode. Justin's rides were awesome as well and maybe some of you will give him some respect after that on top of flat out beating Roczen in the nationals and SX this year. Roczen also rode great and deserves huge props. He looked awesome and like DV12 said in another thread, "where was that ken this summer?" or something like that. The top 2 AC and JH were untouchable. The next fastest two were Ken and Justin.....Not bad for a kid who was on a bike he didn't ride all year and at a track he has never been at...

Again though, My debate is not about individual riders. The front guys in the GP's would be up front anywhere and vise versa. My stance is that the Nationals are deeper and draw better talent thant he GP's do. Until the GP champs stop coming over to race the AMA series when they are in their prime, I will contend that it is that way. When the AMA champs start leaving the circuit to go the GP's in their peek, then I will change my tune. The riders coming over says it all. That does not mean that there are not great riders in the GP....two differnt topics/debates.....

To the victors go the spoils so congrat's to all the Germans and Belgium fans who beat us today......Everyone else like the Irish, GB, Aussie's, Italians, French, etc still have a lot of work to do...

Thank you for a polite anwser Smile

I actually agree with you. The talent in the AMA series is deeper at the moment. And i see only 1 guy who's to blame for that. Our good friend Luongo Angry
Where does he come from ? He is refusing to pay his riders. According to him, the teams and sponsors should pay the riders. He just collects the money. Because of that it is normal that the best of the best go to the AMA series, where they actually get paid for what they do. I can't blame the riders, they are 100% right.

I will give all american riders tons of respect. I was very impressed with Justin's 2nd moto. He was 3rd. He just could not keep up with Cairoli and Herlings, which would have been a wonder anyway. I have no idea why he tried to do that on saturday.
I was actually standing at that place where Barcia fell (when he tried to go on with a blocked front wheel) and that was the same place where Dungey fell (in the 3rd moto). it was also the same place where Barcia had his problems yesterday. Looks like i picked the right place to go and watch the des nations Woohoo

Anyway... now monday comes... back to work Sad

Barcia on the podium :

"I thought i could ride on the sand. Today i found out i can't"
Laughing funny guy
"This track was so rough. it was just neverending. I tried to hang on but i have never riden on anything like this"
lol... welcome to Lommelwood Wink

Baggett :

"This track was incredibly rough. It was the worst nightmare i can imagine"
Tongue
"Congratulations to the germans and the belgians. Those guys are really animals in this sand."

Looks like the american riders can congratulate the winners. Now for some guys on this board because boy, i have allready seen some lame excuses. What i see the most is that this track was in favour of the euro's. Well, it probably was. But it is not the euro's fault that we ride mx on sand and in the USA they don't. Sandtracks are part of motocross over here.

Today, Germany won, fair and square. Team USA was only 3rd and they gave it all they got. I would have liked to see them a bit closer to Germany and Belgium, but nevertheless i really enjoyed seeing them ride in person. I had a fantastic day. Sleeping time now, cya
