The Gift that keeps giving

Edited Date/Time 9/23/2012 9:10pm
As most of you know TSR started a benefit ebay auction to help 16yr old Stone Edler in his Fight for Life against cancer. We were about 4 days into tweeting, contacting riders/companies asking for help with the auction. Both riders and companies were responding very well. Then the next morning while I was on the Fb benefit page I was contacted by a gentleman named Jacob Barnes. He asked if we had a Kyle Chisholm or Hunter Hewitt jersey yet. I replied not yet but we were working on it.Jacob then replied well I have 2 jerseys I would like to donate for the auction, It was from Chiz and Hunter and he asked for shipping info so he could get it out right away. I gave him the info needed and he said I will ship them tomorrow. He then said, Oh yea, The Chiz jersey is his Transworld photo shoot jersey autographed and I have a copy of the magazine with Chiz wearing the jersey also autographed but Hunters not he said but I think it will help Stone out anyways. I replied Thank you so much and we truly appreciate the help Jacob.

So from that day on he would hit me up on fb asking how Stone was and how I was feeling with my health issues. Acted like a grown man and I never thought alot about his age or anything as I was truly excited that we had a very special jersey to add to the auction plus Hunters jersey. So the jerseys arrived priority mail in a cpl days. Again daily he's checking on Stone and I. So a week or so later he hit me up asking if I had any luck yet with a RV2 or Jake Weimer autographed jersey yet. I replied not yet but again Jacob I'm sure they will respond but were late in the outdoor season and riders and companies alike are very busy. Jacob replies well I have those 2 jerseys autographed I also want to send to help Stone. So outta the blue I asked Jacob how old he was? He replies I'm 13, Why do you ask. I replied I was just wondering and then it hit me like a ton of bricks. here's a 13 yr old giving up his collection of autographed jerseys and more to help another child fighting cancer. As soon as it hit me clearly I told Jacob to keep his other jerseys he had done so much to help already and that we truly appreciated his help but I didn't want him giving up anymore of his prized items. He said No, I want to help all I can Mr. Mike.

So I ask, How many 13 year old kids do you know that would be so willing to give up a collection that most any of us would be envy of to help another child/racer out like this? Jacob also runs a fb page called Motohd where you can watch just about anything from sx/mx in HD from his page. So what I ask is if you guy's and gal's would take just a minute and hit his fb page with a like and check it out and Thank him for doing what he has done to help Stone in his fight for Life against cancer. Jacob truly has become the gift that just keeps giving and I think he deserves to be recognized for what he has done. He also made the trip to Elsinore to pick up Davi Millsaps autographed helmet for us and then shipped it the following Monday. In our eye's the kids truly one in a million! Thanks for taking the time to read this and we at Team Sakai Racing would truly appreciate all of you giving this young man a shout out. Beeks got us one at Southwick and I'm trying to do all I can to get another one. Highest selling jersey and they guy that lost in the last 15 secs emailed offering to match the price he lost out to for another one if we could get one. So I'm digging hard trying to get our hands on another one. That jersey alone almost covered one of the injections Stone needs weekly which is not covered by insurance. Thanks for asking and any help you could offer would be greatly appreciated. I'm also in the process of forming a non profit org. so we can continue to help young riders/racers or any other child that contacts us that's fighting cancer. I have 3 kids under the age of 18 currently that have been diagnosed with cancer . Stone Edler, Cody Cornwell and Brandon Lowe. God Bless and Thanks again.

Hey sorry for the late response time. I dont know that I can make it happen but I will see what I can do about it. They just left this morning from ATL to Belgium so I will put the word out. That said. What else can a guy do? Is there any other fundraisers going? Bracelets, t-shirts, number plate keychains? I would like to be part of what you are doing in anyway that you see fit. I think it is awesome and would love to help out!

What a great act of generosity, Jacob. Team Saki Racing's post made me smile, awesome stuff. Cool

Good luck with the auction, TSR.
