All this F/T talk just reminds me that I was VERY lucky to have guys like Eklund, Pearson and Castro tech me how to "Throw it out there"...

I remember them telling me,"You motocrosss kids are such PUSSIES! Gawd! Why do you ALWAYS slow down like a girl when you go thru a flat turn?"

Then they'd set-up some barrels and just RIP around them on YZ465s...then, make me get out there on my 125, Put a "Double-Leader front brake" on ALL my bikes. Taught me how to OWN the 1st turn at Saddleback and beat the hell out the Team Green riders down there...on my YAMAHA!

Really, Really...good times.

Damn.

Makes me really miss Steve.
See for me when you talk about flat track all I can think of is going to California to visit my uncle

When I was a kid we would visit in Cali once a year and I remember going to the Orange County Fairgrounds races, back when Penhall was the shit.
My uncle was a fan, went to the weekly races.
Wish he would have been alive to see my son racing MX.

Funny how many people contribute to our thoughts and memories on moto over the years.

As soon as a promoter attaches the word 'National' or 'championship' to an event, the price automatically doubles- you should know this
There is a "championship" racing going on at the Abbott MX Park in Lincoln, Nebraska for half that price. The Best of the Midwest MX Championship presented by U.S. Track & Trail. $3,000 pro purse, 3 moto format, 12 minute +1 lap motos. $200 pit bike race, $100 best whip competition, 4 lives bands. One great weekend of fun for one low price. $35 pre entry ($45 post entry) and only a $20 gate fee for the whole weekend ($10 one day only spectator fee). Holeshot prizes from Monster Energy, Rocky Mountain ATV & MC, and EVS.Should be a great weekend of racing and entertainment. Check out the website at www.ustrackandtrail.com for full event information!

Best of luck to all racers no matter where they choose to race that weekend.

See that races going on everywhere......

Don't forget that this isn't just a Sat/Sun thing.
For DuQuoin gates open on Thursday, you are getting a full day on Friday for practice as well.

Again......just more choices if you are looking.

hahah. No I'll be there. 1 class. I'm old as shit. We'll see what the lil bike can do. I'm not shutting the throttle off all day.
I have been meaning to take my suspension to Borgic to have it redone. If it wouldn't be too much trouble swing through Evansville and pick it up. Thanks in advance. Tongue
