Reed has never beat RV for a championship. I'm not saying Reed isn't capable, obviously he is, I'm just saying everytime Reed gets to where he feels he can challenge RV in a straight up race, something goes very wrong. Nate I've seen that first lap at Millville a million times like everyone else. Reed had watched his points lead dwindle after several races of watching RV and RD check out and was trying to prove a point. Its no secret Reed is a conservative rider and he was putting it on the edge at Dallas and Millville. It is absolutely a valid point.
I disagree Bob. He rode conservatively at Thunder Valley and gave some points away here and there to RD and RV. But he won first moto at Milville and then the freak crash. Before that he was clearly the fastest guy on the track and nothing indicated he was riding over his head. With RV and RD beating each other here and there, no way would they have chipped away at his points lead enough to matter. Just my opinion but we havent seen RV match Reed's speed outdoors. Many races he beat by at least 15sec. Only after he pushed the eject button ddi RV beat him.

I'll clarify - I mentioned the championships because RV can run his pace all season long and Reed has to ride out of his comfort zone to run (at times) to compete for championships with RV.

Oxymoron? Chopping up sentences and taking them out of context because you got mad is the work of a moron.

I'd have to say it will be interesting to say the least, anyone remember how Carmicheal came back from his knee? Same time frame, same motivation. Every racer knows that when you are sidelined it fuels you up even more to come back better and better, my money would be on RV especially if he is on a red bike but Reed keeps getting better each year as well and continues to impress me more and more. On the other hand you have J$7 who is capable of anything at anytime. Dungey is riding incredible right now but the past has shown he is not willing to let it hang out and I feel in 2013 that will be exactly what it takes to win one of the two titles much less both. With all that said you have numerous under dogs that could surprise many, like Canard, Barcia, Windham whom I never count out (especially the way he was riding til he bit the dust), Wilson, as well as a few others I'm sure I'm leaving out. Should be epic if most or all can stay healthy!

I'm going to say that Reed's wreck at Milleville was a bit of him riding out of his comfort zone even though he says it wasn't. I watched several riders even at this year's race at Milleville and the back end started to wash on several riders including Dungey. But because Dungey didn't have the throttle wide open, he was able to keep it under control. Same with the other riders being able to recover from a swap at the base of the jump.

I say RV is one of the riders that has enough natural talent and the work ethic to go along with it that he'll figure out a way back to the top.

If RV wins the supercross title he will go on to win the outdoor title also. (plausible)

If RV doesn't win the supercross title, then he will win the outdoor title.

Either way he is winning at least one title in my opinion, don't know about both, to many things can happen. i.e 2012

Well since my son's initials are R.V. I guess you could say that RV will win in 2033 as well.

if he stays healthy, he is the favorite for both titles.

Food for thought fellas;

CR22-This seems to be Reeds last year, so him not laying everything on the table isnt in question, he will be going 150%. With the pace he was running, how consistent he is and how comfortable he was pre SX crash, he will be in it until the finish and possibly champ.

JS7-New team and looking more comfortable and having more fun then we have seen for a while. The big question is can he keep it on 2 wheels, if he does he will be in the thick of it til the end, but i just dont see him doing that.

RV2-2x SX champ and last years MX champ, hes on a roll, but i think the biggest factor is who he signs with this year. If its Kawi, he will be right where he was when he got hurt, running up front leading/winning, if its another team then we will have to see how comfortable he is.

RD5-Soon to be MX champ, looking strong and hopefully will continue in the offseason. I think Dungey will be more aggresive in SX and wont hesitate to pull the trigger, and this will put him to the front much faster. The same goes for him as Reed, hes so consistent you cant count him out, and could be the reason he is champ.

TC41-The big question is will he be gun shy and what is his fitness like? While i know the triple jump was a feak accident being injured that much in 2 years could mess with your mental thoughts a bit. Fitness wise im sure hes great, but we all know race vs practice is a different story. Hes willing to hang it out there for the win, so that should not be a factor for him.

Thats just my .02 and heres how i think the year end will look

1)CR
2)RV
3)RD
4)JS
5)TC

Since 2010, Indoors or out, anytime RV has been around to the end, he's been the guy to beat. He's intimidated by no one and has shown he knows how to bounce back from injury. Can't bet against him.
