Poor Shane! Nicest guy you'd ever meet. Guess he got drunk and stumbled into some guys house and the dude shot him.
We have a local paper in Bend called the Source and I grab one whenever I make the trek into town and I read an article about some guy getting shot and looked closely at the picture and, sure enough, it was shit talker Shane.
RIP you crazy fugger.

Anyone hear from Dean lately? if so, please tell him i said Hi.
Something doesn't sound right.
RIP Roosty
I'm here man, alive and well and fucking sick on my stomach. I never met Shane, but we talked on the phone pretty regularly and had plans to meet up one day. I consider him a long lost brother.
Yeah, the Fri music thread was my thing and I kept it rolling pretty regularly for a long time. Roosty and I bonded over music first. Man he loved live music, Ween and reggae especially.
Look, in the future, you don;t need to ask someone to tell me hi.. You should have my email addy. I actually reread a few of our exchanges not long ago.
if you have someone you care about, let em know it. You never know man.
Fully gutted man...from watching the little vid in the news story i posted, sure sounds like a F'ed up situation.
I'll hit you back on it tomorrow but for now take care
He never let us live that down... hehe!
I later worked with him at an mx website and loved him and every minute I spent around his easy laugh. His forte was shit talking. Even though we could lap him, he never let us live down him showing us how to leap the bone crushing, poorly designed, wrist breaking double from hell.
This one's for you Shane.
I loved his fishing threads and his great pictures of beautiful Oregon.
Godspeed Shane -

Also, after a bit of looking it appears that he may have known the guy that shot him and that the shooting could have been murder, at least that is what some of his friends are thinking.

Shooting Victim’s Friend Tells Different Story
Claims Munoz Was Murdered, Not a Burglar
By Joe Burns, KTVZ.COM
BEND, Ore. — Friends of 33-year-old Shane Munoz who was killed during what police describe as a home invasion burglary, said Tuesday they don’t believe Munoz is accused of burglarizing someone’s home the way police describe.
That friend didn’t want to be on camera or be identified but says Munoz isn’t the type of person to invade someone’s home.
Just what exactly happened on 2461 Awbrey Road early Sunday morning is still a mystery to some.
Police are still standing by with their version of events: that 35-year-old Kevin Perry and 33-year-old Amanda Weinman came home, discovered the door had been forced in and encountered Munoz in the living room. That’s when a fight broke out and Munoz was shot by Perry, officers said. Munoz died at the scene.
But that narrative doesn’t sit well with Munoz’s friends.
“I don’t believe it was a home invasion intruder at all,” the friend said. “That’s just not Shane’s MO.”
The life-long friend says he heard Munoz was with Perry at a bar earlier in the afternoon and into the evening.
That’s where the friend says Munoz was either invited or brought to Perry’s home later that night. And all of them, including Weinman, Perry’s friend, had a few too many to drink.
“Maybe they asked him to leave or the guy got mad at him for some reason and Shane didn’t really realize how upset he was,” the friend said. “Something occurred to where a pistol came out and they shot him”
And the friend says he believes Perry kicked his own door in.
“There’s no reason for Shane to be kicking people’s doors in the middle of Awbrey Butte and in the middle of Saturday night,” the friend said.
The friend says Munoz had a place to live, had a job, and had a family.
“He’s never a criminal, never a figher” the friend said. “It seems funny. It’s saddening”
Deschutes County court records show a list of cases for Munoz but no previous burglary charges.
“In my heart, my whole body was telling me he was murdered,” the friend said.”I felt that there was a great injustice to Shane and his family and his friends.”
NewsChannel 21 tried reaching Perry and Weinman but was unsuccessful.
Police aren’t saying whether or not the two men knew each other or if this was a random crime. The case remains under investigation.

Regardless, bad decisions, mistakes in judgement, call it what you want, had a horrid consequence that can't be fixed. This is truly, truly sad. Sounds like a super guy is gone forever.
Guns are really fucking dangerous. I own quite a few (for protection only), and sometimes I wonder if that's a bad thing. One small error on my part could take a life. My property provides a great shortcut to college kids (and others) who want to get to a bus stop about a half mile away. Just this morning a young college kid asked if he could cut through my property, and he was willing to pay me. I told him save his money and he's welcome to use my property anytime. Trouble is that he has to walk right by my son's bedroom window. I'm worried my son might over-react and use one of the guns.
His family should hire a private detective to look into this matter more.
Wonder if this was the shooter?

Maybe he was at a bar and met up with the female, came home with her .
Maybe the husband walked in on them and got enraged and they fought and he shot & killed him.
Maybe she is covering up for the husband ("We both came home and he was in there.").
The possibilities are endless.
The main questions I would have would be.
Was there an immediate call made to 911 ,who made the call ,Male or Female?
Was there an attempt to resessitate him made by the Male or the Female(If so which one)?
Did they immediately leave the house to get a neighbor?
Were there any other break ins in the area as of recently?
The list goes on & on..
Something very weird about all that. Why would the police act like it was a random home invasion if it was really some type of quarrel between two guys that had been drinking together? Sounds like some pretty shoddy police work.
I still can't wrap my mind around this shit, though. Senseless.
