What is that white stuff on c shaft on Factory bikes??

Works bikes will have hollowed out / lightened countershafts. To keep them from getting packed with mud they'll plug the hole in the end. My 1977 OW27 Yamaha had what appeared to be black silicone in it.

i'll find a pic somewhere. ive seen it on like rmz and kxs becuase they use a C clip to hold on the countershaft sprocket. and new man yes they do that too but its white. i just want to see if anyone knows what type of scilicone it is bc i tried using some home depot scilicone and it peeled away:/

MARK OUT if you scroll up i know what its used for- holding the c clip from coming out. thanks todd36 i know theres diff grades of threebond which is like yamabond but still usure what to use thanks tho

Make sure you use 100% pure sillicone and the mating surfaces are clean.
