It's in it's rebuilding stages after the GAS' monster energy supercross attempt. It's 4 rounds this year then looking to rebuild for 2013 and beyond under promoters IEG. Dubbo will probably get just as big of a crowd as they did in the GAS Adelaide round, and it would cost alot less to have it there.

It's looks incredibly hard to get SX up and running financially, Reed, with monster energy, went huge with it, live national broadcasts with big tracks and names, and it still failed. Not sure what you expected after a venture like this failed? Global action sports only announced that they won't be doing any more SX in Feb, and IEG were awarded the SX rights from MA in MAY this year! So yeah, not sure what you were expecting?

4 rounds is fine, attracts alot of teams to a smaller, less costly season, and bringing it back to simple racing formats are all good things to start a fresh for IEG, and then ramp it up for 2013...

Maybe better off having one race like Bercy at the motoGP attract international riders etc & have a decent purse????
4rnd aus sx title is pretty lame for a rider to put on his CV
don,t get me wrong any SX in aus is great & well worth the effort
obviously the only way we will get a decent SX series is if the mining industry steps in

Apparently the motogp round isn't a definite, they revised the press release. At short notice I think this is an awesome effort that hopefully will be financially viable for the promoter which is THE MOST IMPORTANT thing. Give it a couple years to get a following.

I'd love to see in future a race on the Saturday night before the Bathurst 1000, a round on the gold coast with the v8's a round at homebush with the v8 finale and a round at motogp. People attending those events are rev heads at heart, give them an exciting product and they'll come back.

I think the right people are behind it this time, relying on chad for fans was never gonna work long term, they need another hook, hopefully they find it

Right On.
Stoked to see a round held in Dubbo as it's only 120kms away, I'll definitely be attending and getting a bunch of mates to go over.

I agree 100%.

Growing the series will take time. The championship has to "walk before it can run," and it needs to generate its own following among the general public, so that a sustainable, professional series can be held. The last few promoters have proved that spending a lot of money on promotion and organisation from the get go will not work out in the long run.

after the bath GAS took last year, im glad someone stepped up and put a series on, I think starting small and building may be a better option than nothing at all,

if the round at motogp goes ahead it will be an awesome time, and if they could get into some other big motorsport events like the V8 supercar rounds, bathurst, gold coast and the homebush final are obvious choices,
