That is a problem with your carrier. You need to call them and ask them for channels that have motocross on them. They seem to have a lot of garbage from what I see and they have very limited number of channels compared to American TV. Instead of blaming DC or saying Americans don't want your money, blame your carrier. There are some carriers that don't carry all three of these channels in America. So that is DC's fault or America not wanting your money.
It appears your carrier is taking your money but not giving you the channels you want.

We are working on it, just as Comedy Central, the NFL, ESPN and everyone else is trying to work through old viewing habits and numbers, and new media contraptions like iPhones and laptops and streaming.
Everyone involved in this series knows the importance of the international audience, but the international audience has to understand that there are a lot of hoops to jump through and processes to sort before we can have both a great TV package for live viewing, and a streaming show for those that don't get that channel in NZ, or Canada, or anywhere else.
Supercross has a great TV package but no streaming; the GPs are not on TV in America but we can purchase views. We are all trying to find a way to do both, but here in America the TV package is still more important... For now.

sorry...I skipped ahead and missed the most of the discussion.
In the US, I think we are moving forward. The scheduling and shifting is a bit of a PITA, but I set the DVR to record anything with motocross in the title...just have to throw out the FMX and occasional gameshow that James shows up on.
I have always assumed that the lack of a live stream was based on contractual restrictions, and I have found the coverage this year to be excellent. My question out of simple curiosity is what seems to be the resistence to streaming from the networks. Is it an issue with the manner in which number of viewers is determined ? It would seem to be a benefit to the network and increase total viewers of the event by simply increasing the number of viewers by the total number of internet stream recipients. Make it an identical broadcast whether over the net or over the air and count the total viewers regardless of delivery mechanism. Total viewership could then be used to sell advertising. Alternatively, is there a concern over the public's ability to capture and restribute content if it is an internet stream?
Just curious. Networks are clearly not the only industry struggling to come to grip with the internet as a distribution method.
Having said that.... I set the DVR to record all four moto's and went riding all day Sat. When I was at the track and asked by fellow riding bud's about what chanel the race was on? Or if I knew when is was gonna be on? I just said I didn't know. How could you explain it? You would waste your whole day trying to explain to people what they needed to do if they wanted to watch all four moto's!
If not for the heads up on here I would've missed at least two of Saturday's moto's. So like others have said in this thread, if it's a cluster for hard core fans to follow the coverage then how are any casual or new people supposed to follow it? The one moto only on NBC did seem to just make things a bit confusing.
First two moto's on fuel. The second moto's both on the same chanel (whatever that may be) for the entire season. If it works for fuel wouldn't it work for another network for the second moto's?
How can you expect fan's to change their cable service to view MX and then change the coverage week to week? I can see where this can be frustrating to say the least...
Also, don't know if it's been mentioned, I don't know if there is a FUEL HD channel, but I don't get it .....
once you receive moto (or college football) - in HD - you get spoiled, you cannot go back to regular.
WE must be in HD.
Dkg, is it absolutely a network thing, and there is resistance to opening pandora's box until they are sure it will not affect the ratings and viewership numbers. Even guys on here mention that they skip the commercials (and I do when I am catching up on The Daily Show or The Colbert Report every morning) and this they do not count the same in the ratings because the commercials do not get the same notice. Watch something on free On Demand and they often don't let you fast-forward because it nullifies the viewer for advertisers.
And about the NASCAR thing, I do watch from time to time -- I am friends with Clint Bowyer and (sorta) Jimmy Johnson -- and I catch a race a month or so. I also watch a lot of football, basketball, European soccer and of course motocross, including all of the GPs on MX-Life.tv. Drives my wife crazy on a Sunday morning but it's homework, and I dig checking out all of the differences as a promoter, and of course the riders and the racetracks....
I do not have a background in TV -- Alli Sports handles that aspect more than I do -- but I have Master's Degree in being the end-user of good TV programming!
