I'm headed down that way this Saturday to cruise the Dragon on sportbikes for a whole week. I was wondering if it would be worth it to take my MX bike since we have an open spot . So, if anyone knows of any good places to ride mx in southeastern Tennessee, western North Carolina please let me know!

Thanks,

Jon

You should wait about 6 weeks and go. I think theres a race there at the beginning of August. Some country singer race host it I believe!

Enjoy the tail my friend, It is quite the experience both directions.

Rental house has been booked. It's time to roll. The R1 has new rubber and all around fresh, I'm ready for some twisty's.

Any other info would be greatly appreciated.

I live about 45 min from the Dragon. Last time I was up there it was full of highway patrol officers. Pretty much had to just cruise, couldn't really open it up any at all. Check out The Mountain MX in Madisonville, off exit 60 of I-75. Phone: (423) 420-9216 Their website isn't up any longer, but you can youtube some videos, and of course they're on Facebook.

The mountain mx is now closed...there's pretty much no where within an hour of the Tennessee end of the dragon. I live about 20 minutes from there

Do cheraholla, you can run it pretty hard. Be super careful on 421.

Looks like the mx will be staying home then. I don't plan on leading the pack of guys I'm going with as they've been there before. Not trying to push it and go down, and or get a ticket.

Thanks for the advice!

- Silver Creek MX in Morganton, NC is about 1.5hrs from Maggie Valley - Really cool track with open practices posted on their facebook page "Silver Creek MX"
- LakesideMX inTaylors, SC is about an hour south of Asheville. www.lakesidemx.net
- Possum Kingdom is just south of Greenville, SC. Pretty cool/safe track http://www.possumkingdommx.com/
- I-81 Motorsports - Never been here but will be racing it this Saturday night. http://www.i81motorsportspark.com/
- There is an electric bike track about 30 mins from Asheville - Dark Green Motorsports. I've wanted to check this place out, but need to round up some peeps to go with. Looks like a fun and very affordable alternative to dragging your bike down with you. https://darkgreenmotorsports.com/

There really isn't anything that close to Asheville. I know I have to drive at minimum 1 hour to find a track to ride at. Good luck and have fun.

NOT trying to die on vacation. I only go as fast as I know I will survive...which is slow.

Trails End MX is located in Huntsville TN, this is a new track, but is shaping up nicely.
I-40 mx located in west knoxville races every Saturday night, practice is on Tuesday nights.
Battle Creek MX and Chattanooga MX are about 1/2 mile apart in Chattanooga. Battle creek is a good sized track, but I wouldn't waste my time with Chat. MX, it is very small and narrow and rocks everywhere, fist sized ones. We drove down from Knoxville seen it, turned around and drove back without unloading.
