...but they do seem to have better outcomes than in the past.

It snapped back in line, and he motored on.

That was a the only time I think he looked out of shape all day. Twist the grip and carry on! Cool

He would never have saved that on the Yamaturd!

That was one of the craziest moments of that battle. I dont know how he pulled that miraculous save off.

How fine is the line between "snapping back" and "spitting off"? At the moment his luck seems to be in. Let's hope it stays that way, as the US scene needs his presence.

He made a lot of little mistakes, but this was the only major one. He handled the pressure really well. Dungey isn't pressuring him the way Carmichael did though. Carmichael would show him a wheel every chance he got. That's what really messes with James. That and of course when Carmichael would be pulling away from him.

That thing got back in line in a hurry! Once it came back he was able to be back on the gas so quick... he must be in heaven with that thing right now.

And the dude never let off.

People might forget, even when he went 24-0 he was still making mistakes each moto. Even had some crashes but was so far ahead he could still win.

He looks a lot smoother now then he did the last time he rode MX. Not saying that will equal an undefeated season, but I think he realizes he doesn't have to win every moto to win the championship.

More maturity and knowing Dungey will be there every moto has made him tone down the "crazyballs" stuff he used to do.

This is a good example of how fragile the Sport can be, He was 1/16 of an inch from being on the sidelines.

I couldn't help but think of RC when this happened to James yesterday...how many times did we see Ricky pull of one of those incredible saves by just GASSIN IT!

hear ya Guy but both of them gained enormous respect from me as JS7 totally handled immense pressure and RD was able to keep it on, should be a frikkin great season

Exactly. Some forget how many times RC got out of shape and badly.

Yep. Back tire just barely touches the backside of the second whoop and he's cartwheeling.

I really didn't think the mistake he made in the "12 pack" section was that big of a deal.

I agree. Dungey also made a mistake in that same section as well. It's all apart of racing. For the most part James looked great.

It's the bike's fault.....that he didn't crash, now if he was on that yamaha things would have ended differently Whistling Tongue

Maybe if it wasn't for the bike, he would never have gotten sideways to begin with? Maybe it is time for Suzuki to go back to the drawing board?

That's the new roller scrub. See how the rear tire never leaves the ground? Power down baby...

I've been thinking the same thing. As long as there isn't a wheel being shoved to his inside and rubbing his leg, I doubt he cares if RD or anyone else wants to follow him along to the finish line.

I'm glad you showed it GuyB.....that's racin at the top level folks. Every racer has moments like that in evry race. Some (JS) need to learn to reign in the frequency of those incidents ( he looks like he's certainly improving), and others (RD) might need to push it a little harder and make those aggressive moves

I was standing just to the left of that shot. JS just grabbed a handful and never missed a beat. He and Dungey both rode great yesterday.

Same. It wasn't that big of a deal. Dungey got loose more times that second moto than I've seen him in his past 5 motos combined.

If he was on the Yamaha he would have jumped that section like BB Gun.

Great pic, Steve! Were you just randomly shooting when the "Oh shit" moment happened?

Remember in the first moto when he went wide open around the outside to pass Izzi? That could have ended bad also..

You did not respect them before this race?
