Anyone have any experience with these helmets? I was looking at Shoei's for my son, but the Scorpion helmet fits much better. IT's even adjustable with the pump & bladder for the cheek pads.

The look is also very similar to a Shoei, but I want the best protection and fit. The Shoei doesn't seem to fit his head well.

For a sub $200 helmet, this looks like a great deal. I'm just leary with the price point... kind of the "what's your head worth" argument ($500+ vs $200).

Thanks!

I have the new Shoei VFX-W and it is a bit lose but I think it may be the extensive padding. I've had a few of my friends say it was too big and they went on and bought an Arai and loved it, and the same with Scorpions. Not sure if you are partial to Scorpion but I would definitely check out Arai and explore around that some. It's one of the more costly helmets but it looks good and is rated very well.

Whoa, that is a pretty good helmet for the under $200.00 price point.

As far as the arguement of , "What's your head worth?". I'm 50/50 on it. I believe it's more about the helmet fit than about the price.

I agree. I'm also starting to think it's more about the fit of the helmet rather than the brand (unless of course you go with a $50 helmet not exactly made for moto).

The helmet fits really good, is adjustable, and looks good too. Never heard of them before this weekend, which is why I was hesitant to jump at it. All of the reviews I've found seem pretty positive too.

itis definitely more about the fit. what good is a shoei if it flops around? scorpion makes a great product for the price, and the pump system really works, not a gimmick.

also, different head shapes require different helmets. check your local dealer, they should be cool with getting you the exact right one, best to try them all.

I have the EXO-1000 street helmet with the inflatable bladder. While the helmet fits well as is, the bladder just helps snug it up slightly.

Maybe for the dirt it wouldn't be that bad, since your only going to be wearing it for about 15-30 minutes at a time. BUT, it is very obnoxious on long rides.

Just got my new Scorpion VX34 Helmet.

Shell- Love the design of the helmet, looks like a polycarbonate version of the S_ _ _ i. Lightweight and an amazing ventilation system. 1 XL and 3 Med ports over the brow and 1 Large on the top, which air is directed through the visor. The visor is also sculpted, adding detail to the amazing look.

Liner- The KwikWick liner is very comfortable against your skin. Feels better than a brushed nylon, and hopefully wears better. Feels cooler from the start.

Fit- Performance Fit. I love the idea of the air fit check pads, because that is my only fit issue. Out of the box it fits great, but to have the option to customize the fit after the helmet breaks in, or after the track breaks in/down, is perfect.

Price- Wow Value!!

I will update ride reviews. 1st Race April 1st.

I had a Scorpion VX for about 5 years.

I have take a few minor spills with it.

Just had a big crash with it & now it's time to replace it, I will have no problem buying another one.

I had one (had to sell it because I had to quit riding recently), but I absolutely loved it! I've owned numerous TLD helmets in the past, and I thought the VX-34 was much more comfortable. Not to mention, the price is right as opposed to dropping $400 on a Troy Lee.

I definitely recommend getting one!

Me and my brother both wear the vx 34. Fit is amazing and the overall quality is definately on par with other high end helmets. Its got great venting, and the kwik wik liner actually feels great even whn pouring with sweat never feels hot and sweaty like other liners. Some of my friends have shoeis and in my opinion I would rather have my scorpion. Hope this helps some

Honestly, never been a Scorpion fan, but their product has improved ten fold. Their new line is great, and the fit is great for my shape (mostly oblong, slightly round, average). The pump really works. Not terribly light, but fits price point range. I would choose them over hjc. Another great $200 range lid is FLYs line.

After a couple months of use... my son loves the helmet. Great fit and I agree that the pump does actually make it sort of a "custom fit" to your face. Shoei wouldn't fit him properly, but these seem to work really well.

They do run small. I would say 1 to 2 sizes small. A Shoei XL fits me good, but I couldn't even get a Scorpion XXL on my head without forcing it! Way too tight.

Great helmet, just size up a bit.

My friend is a dealer for them and he has one also. I was leary about it but when i looked at it i was surprised how well it was built and lightweight. Also it is certified by the euro spec and from what i am told it is a much better and more relevant helmet testing system.

They do run small, every helmet I've worn in the past have been mediums and I wore an XL in the vx34. Also I had trouble with goggles fitting in the helmet and snug against my face, tried oakley o frame, dragon mdx, and eks brand

We have one in here for testing and for the price it is a LOT of helmet.

Graphics look good, it's comfortable and DOT/ECE approved. It's fairly lightweight as well.

We normally wear the BELL Moto-9 or The FLY Formula Clash but this is a good entry level helmet for someone looking....

It looks similar to the vx34 so I'm guessing they just use different names over there. It looks like they have some different colorways in Europe, I was looking for an all white one but they don't offer it here. How was the sizing compared to your last helmet?

I was in the last 2 WEC races and looked like almost everybody was sponsored by them there. I liked this design the best:

Seems like Europe and USA don't have the same products. We only have VX 20 and VX 15. BTW, who can give the name of this enduro rider, who did decent in US SX ?

It runs small. Take one size up than normal. Mine is a smal, what i normally run, and this one is a bit too tight. But i still love it, i have to say.

You're certainly right, but i saw others say the same in this thread. I guess you have to try it before ordering, so.

We have this helmet and it is a great helmet. I personally have the older one from three or four years ago. You cannot go wrong should you want to buy one of these.

pitbike502 is right, ours is the same size as we have always ran (M), did not need to go up or down over here.
