Just broken the Scaphoid bone in my wrist. Not badly but enough to require a screw being put in next week. Doc says crashing on it again could mangle the screw and cause me some problems so i was looking at a wrist brace. Any recommendations?

X2 You can never go wrong with one of Jeff Brewers (allsport dynamics) products!

You could always wait until it's fully healed and then ride, unless it's your Profession.

I would definitely go for the Allsport Dynamics OH2 wrist brace...I have one and I don't even notice it is there. If you do decide that the OH2 is the direction you want to go, I would recommend the Lacer. It is slightly more expensive than the speed but it is more comfortable in my opinion. It makes it so that you have an even hold throughout your forearm instead of all the pressure being where the strap is (The Speed version uses straps, while the Lacer actually has a lacing system)...if that makes sense.

If it was my profession i'd be broke... but then that sounds like the situation on most privateers so maybe a bad analogy. If i can get one under medical insurance i was thinking of the preventive benefits too.

4 breaks within 2" on lower left forearm wrist area, the Ortho highly recommended something. And after sitting in his office and looking at what was offered he liked Allsport.

My son wears the Lacer also and says he doesn't know it's on at all.

I got the Allsport. But my wrist was completely shot. So I told them I still had too much movement which caused pain. I sent it back and they totally locked it down for me,much like a cast but more manageable. Didn't charge me a penny. I was very happy to be able to ride with so much support. Eventually I had to have surgery to totally fuse my wrist but that had nothing to do with the brace. Allsport rocks!

Did he break his wrist or arm bone? I broke my radius bone just before the radial head, would one of these help with my return to racing or future injury prevention?
