KX100 or YZ/RM/KX/SX 125

What do you guys think. He is moving up from a klx110l which he has had for nearly a year but wants to be able to just cruise around and ride trails as well as doing a bit of motocross maybe.

I am 5ft 8 and weight 147 lbs. I ride a YZ 125 and 250. I would sit him on both bikes to see what he feels comfortable on. You might have to shorten the sub frame or seat for a 125.

How confident is he on the bike? If he is slaying the shit out of the KLX go for the 125.. if he is timid and still learning on that, go for the 100 and build his confidence gradually.
